| What comes to mind with the words Autumn or Halloween? |
| I don't celebrate Halloween. Both words bring up cliches that folks here revel in. I basically don't like cliches. |
| Does anybody do any leather work? I'd like some advice on what category to place a painted leather bookmark in a local fair. 1. Book (book covers, scrapbooks, notebooks, etc.) 2. Picture – any style 3. Household article, anything normally used in the home or office other than books or pictures. Examples: jewelry box, cigar box, humidor, etc. 4. Personal item (purse, clutch purse, handbag, shoulder bag, fanny pack, belt, accessory item, wearing apparel, carrying case) 5. Pocket item (billfold, wallet, checkbook cover, pocket secretary, card case, key case, shear case, eyeglass case, or any other item which can be carried in a pocket) 6. Miscellaneous – any leather item not listed in this division Category 6 (miscellaneous) is what I would place it in. I could also see it fit in category 2, 3 and 5 though. Any help is appreciated, thanks! |

1 Read your favorite book, or a children's book, out loud. If you're feeling adventurous, try to read it with a fake accent.  2 Turn on music and sing and/or dance like no one's listening or watching. If they are, tell 'em to mind their own beeswax!  3 Do some little kid science experiments in the kitchen--the messy kind--and get your hands in it. I'm thinking easy stuff like mixing corn starch with water and squish it around under water, then play with it being dry whene you take it out of the water. Or finger paints. Or make a sticky bread dough and just play with it. Enjoy getting your hands messy. (If that kind of thing freaks you out, try the corn starch thing and see how you do. It feels good!) And you can worry about cleaning up tomorrow

| I'd like to share some of my favorited items I have around WDC: 1. "Invalid Item" /"The Snail Mail Forum" Who wouldn't like receiving (or sending) a handwritten letter in the mail? To me it's happy mail unlike piling up bills. Writing and sending letters through the mail is a great reminder it's okay to slow down and enjoy life. Things don't always need to be so "instant" through texts or emails in our bustle through life. If you'd like to join the WDC Snail Mail fun see this survey to get you started: "Snail Mail Survey" 2. "Weekly Goals" I'll admit I don't use the Weekly Goals fourm as often as I should. Something about writing my goals out here and coming back at the end of the week to update just seems to help me better though. All that compared to a sratch pad at home or on Facebook or instagram or a dry erase board. Or worse an in head "running list" of 'I'll remember to do that'. Time to start giving it my best at getting those goals accomplished again! 3. "The Soundtrack of Your Life" A definite favorite of mine! I enjoy the weekly theme challenges and finding music that fits me as well as the theme. Overall I just enjoy sharing music that is meaningful to enjoy. It's fun to run across old or new songs shared through this challenge. 4. "Invalid Item" If you love Wheel Of Fourtune, this activity is for you. It's only open a short time, but is incredibly fun to join in when it's up and running! 5. "a very Wodehouse challenge" I can't leave out this awesome activity that challenges all the participants. Who doesn't like to earn merit badges? It gives you enough challenge to earn the badges too! Getting a chance to participate can even prove difficult; claim one of the 6 spots as quick as you can. |
