Busy juggling a couple stories around and revised my short stories on amazon.

Life, as usual, has taken a turn and not for the better; hence no popping on here often.

Anyway, My current work is a supernatural one using Japanese spiritualism in modern America.

That's it really. Just felt like checkin in. Have a good one.
Been away for a hot minute, handling life and trying to get my story done. Well, stories. I keep hopping between two of them for now. Once I hit a block with the one, the other opens up.

Not much of an update, but I ain't got much time.

Adios for now.
I've heard plenty on the pitfalls of writing, one of which is to "Not confuse the reader." True, a confusing story can be hard for some, but there are times when confusing truly brings a story together.

Charles Stross wrote a sci-fi story called Singularity Sky, which opens with phones falling out of the sky, sent by powerful beings who merely wish to be entertained. This is an incredibly confusing book and yet it manages to grip you and make you want to understand and so you delve in some more. Pretty soon, there is no confusion and things, however odd they may be, begin to make sense.

I'm just an amateur, but I believe that just because your story may be confusing to some, giving it a chance might not be such a bad thing. I mean, my god: Stephen King is an amazing writer, but some of his books are labyrinth in nature.
I don't usually give myself weekly goals, my lie is hectic at time, but it couldn't hurt. So I guess my goal for the week is to get the next two parts of my 2nd chapter done and rework the first three parts of the first chapter.

Amidst all this, I'm working on plots and some visuals for a friend's RPG game night. I haven't played in ages, but I "consult" now and then.
Since I can't get over my hurdle with the fantasy story, I'm writing out the second draft of an old horror story I did in my teens. It needs an update, but should, hopefully, be easy to work with, until I get rid of my block.

When I recall the old stories I did in my youth, I'm actually quite impressed with the ideas I came up with. If I'd been more serious about writing back then, I may have had at least one of them published by now.

I need to learn how to seize the moment, lol.

Better late than never, eh? I am sure you had more important things at that point of life.
Lucky me, I've hit a mental block. I'm stuck and it's not even half way through the chapter. I may have to switch gears onto the other story in the works, 'cause this thing has me beat.

Funny thing is, I've never been this jammed up before. I hate to leave a story waiting, but I can't waste time burning my brain over it. Just have to move on, til the block goes on its merry way.

I feel like my head needs a good scrubbing.

You've never had writer's block before? That is amazing to me, as I suffer from it more often than not. At least you have something else to work on. *Thumbsup*
I've had it before. Just not to the extent where I have nothing to even consider.
Now that I'm feeling human again, writing is simpler... as simple as writing can be. The restructuring of my old fantasy tale is going to be rough, but it's going good, so far.

I have to pause, now and then, to remind myself I don't have to describe every single detail or make something like a breeze of wind sound poetic when all need be said is, "There was a breeze." Of course, It knocks my word count down a lot and I have to fight that part of me that just has to fill it up.

Tonight feels like an all nighter... at lest a 3 AMer.

There's being overly descriptive and then there's the stripped down version. Make every word count but also, make the scene come to life.
More than free to use any of my oddball words. Just expect plenty of odd looks, if you ever say them aloud.

Oddball words often make interesting free verse. *Laugh* Thanks! I was actually thinking about working it into a poem I've been playing with for ages now. It takes place after a 3 day weekend, and I mention the guy's "15 o'clock shadow". I think that "pulling a 3 AMer" would be an interesting juxtaposition. *Wink*
Hi Jackson Tyler Lee Author Icon *Smile* how are you? I just stepped by to say Hi and welcome to WDC. You're Cinnamon's mentee right? If so, I'll buy some tickets for you in current raffle and I hope you'll win some great price. Write on!
Minja.
Thank you very much.
If it's one thing I don't do well, it's getting sick. What I really don't do well is being sick and trying to write. Things were going so good, everything was flowing and my fingers were rocking the keyboard. Then it hit me.

Cold sweat, sudden clammy chill feeling and so lightheaded I felt like taking a flight. I have epilepsy, so my fear is oncoming seizure. Nope; a cold that has graciously turned into pneumonia.

I had just started the first chapter of revising an old story I did when I was in my teens. It had grammar issues and terrible structure, but its premise was actually really good. My plan is to build on the original. I had previously used the prologue to set up events of the past, leading up to the story. My idea, this time, is to draw out those events; make it a series leading up to my original.

I'm off then. The waterfall beneath my nose requires tending to.

Thanks. I'm trying to write tonight, while I'm feeling semi-human; it hits me in waves. So bad I was hallucinating last night... and apparently singing. Not sure here that came from.

Glad you're doing a little better... though singing and hallucinations could be fun to some degree! *Laugh* I do hope you get some writing in before another bad wave hits. Being sick is just a miserable thing.
take care of yourself, your muse will be there when you com out of this
