Your poem was very good and I can tell it came from your soul. I really did enjoy reading it. You are a real poet!

I am going to find An Anchor to the Soul. In the meantime, if you haven't read anything about the "Tao Te Ching," the T is pronounced "d", try to read the "Tao Te Ching" or "The Tao of Inner Peace," that's my favorite.

It was written by Lao Tzu 3,000 years ago. You will have to consentrate and even re read parts of the books. It is written in prose, but whoever translated the book explains what Lao Tzo means.

The ancient book has been translated and printed almost as much as the Bible. In fact, it promotes love, understanding, nature and many other wonderous things. The Bible is full of half-truths, fiction, it's unclear about who wrote what and some of the passages were written by men two or three hundred years after the death of Christ.

I did my time in Church and tried so hard to believe. I attended church from age 3 in Bible School on up until I was 18 and started working. When I was a teenager, the Sunday School teacher asked me to leave because I was disturbing the class by asking questions about the Bible and what some of the verses meant.

I get the feeling she didn't know either. All I remember was her telling me to "take it on Faith." That sounded to me when I was 15 that to believe in God and the Bible, you should remain ignorant.

Since then, I have read piles of books on Christianity and I am horrified what was done to the Jews and other so-called "non-believers." The Church had so many horrible ways to torture those innocent people just because they didn't believe in the same way.

I've also read books by Richard Dawkins and Hitchins and other Atheists. Though it was pointed out the flaws and mistruths of religion, atheists don't go from door to door trying to spread the word, asking for money or try to convince people there is no God. People need to believe, so why tell them any different?

Carl Sagan, my biggest hero, spent most of his life trying to find God. He did experiments, physics, interviews, travelled to the Holy Land, attended church and still found no proof of God. On his deathbed, he told his wife, "I'm still not sure."

Didn't mean to run on, especially since I don't know if you are Catholic, Jewish, or Born Again. I respect the beliefs of others. They have that right. But I did my time in Church (Methodist) and the few times I attended at Christmas with my mother, I had panic attacks. I wanted to run out of the room!

I promised myself and told my mother, "I can't do this anymore." I do a lot of reading and a little writing and I don't feel like I need religion. I am a good person, never hit anyone, always helpful and respectful. I'm more concerned with right now than with Heaven. Oh, I asked a pastor what do we do when we go to Heaven and he told me, "We worship Him." Not me.

Desmond Morris,a zoologist and anthropologist wrote in "The Naked Ape" that man invented God to have someone to bow and scrape to. I wonder how true that is

It's way past my bedtime. I hope I didn't upset you. I do believe in life, love and happiness. I am also going to find "An Anchor for the Soul." I am always open to anything. Nothing is written in stone.

I enjoyed your love poem. It is beautiful. I'd like to think my husband would write me a love poem.

Very cool! I've taken so many quizzes, polls, questionaires, but this one I like. I am very happy to find out I am in the 50.% group. It's one of the few times I've felt normal! Thanks.

Interesting and informative. It made me stop and think. Have you studied Maslow's Hierarchy Of Needs? It is like a pyramid with "Self-Acualization" at the top.

You certainly have what it takes to be a writer. I wish I could recreate reality. I'm stuck in reality. I do have ADHD and Bipolar Disorder, does that count?

Very thought provoking, and so true. The last few sentences reminded me of "Te Tao Te Ching," written 3,000 years ago by a wise man named Lao Tzu. His writings have been translated almost as much as the Bible. His work makes more sense than the Bible, which is full of untruths, distorted and made up facts and I have never been able to believe. The "Tao" is good, pure, simple and full of love. It is the path I choose to follow.

I don't want to convert you. That would not be fair. Everyone is entitlled to their own beliefs. God has helped millions overcome their problems. I am the only one who can heal myself and overcome my problems. However, we all need a little help sometimes. That's what family and friends are for!

Though it was a little long and took me a while to read and re read the piece, I must admit, it was great! I guess you can tell I love horses and have 50 years of experience with them and still learning. I don't have equines anymore. I live in the city.

I look forward to reading more of your stuff! I just have to do some more reading and I've been trying to start on a story about a giant snake holding a rural community hostage. It's a true story! I was part of it, too.

That really did crack me up, Maryanne! I read a bit about inconsistencies and ridiculousness of the Bible. I lean more towards Te Tao Te Ching. It's all about respecting nature. I also read Richard Dawkins, who is a confimed and funny Atheist and several others. I also love to read about what really happened and not what history would lead us to believe! It's a riot!

Anyway, I can't wait for my husband to get home so I can read "Interpeting the Bible." It is one of the best pieces on the Bible I have read. The other ones I read are too damn serious and critical. Your version is better.

I don't have anything critical to say about this piece. Why don't you make some blatant mistakes so I can find them --- not that I could.

I enjoyed reading about my StarTrec buddies. You wrote the story so well, I couldn't stop reading and even re read some of the story. You ought to submit it to the producers of StarTreck! I would love to see that episode!

The dialog was very believable and in character for the members of the crew, as well as the other people in the story. Though it took me a while to read it, I am trying, myself, to write longer, more detailed stories. I have already learned a lot and thank you!

I was surprised with the many newsletters with 5 stars! I just know I will either be right up there with everyone or fall on my face! Well since I am so vain, I guess, I will start climbing up there with everyone!

Though I've yet to read very much, I've never thought I liked Si FY. So I do plan on reviewing, not stroking someone on the head. However, I promise to abide to the Guidelines and make sure the writer is pleased that he did the work and looking forward to writing a better piece next time. I can be good at motivating people, as you will notice.

I enjoyed your poem very much. I am not so talented, myself. I think it would be nice if you mentioned more about the dog and if he lived through the trama. My boss, a Veterinary Surgeon, travelled to New Orleans after Katrina. He told us some horror stories that made me want to weep. I have also had to deal with this kind of thing when I managed an animal shelter. The pets were terrified and a good many were severely injured.
You did write a great poem.

I have been plagued by severe migraines since I was in high school. Over the years, after seeing a lot of doctors, they came up with other diagnoses. Finally, I saw a great Neurologist who gave me meds as well as showed me how to give myself shots of Imitrex. Nothing really helped.
When I was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder, my migraines were not so painful or frequent. It was because he gave me Zyprexa, and an aniti-siesure drug and a wonder drug called Ultram which all but rid me of my trigeminal Neuralgia, a cranial nerve disorder which is dubbed: "The Suicide Disorder" because it is so painful. Some folks can't deal with the intense pain anymore. I can understand why.
I am better now and I hope you will find something to keep you from having migraines at all. Have you ever taken Ultram (Tramadol)? It is as effective as morphine, they tell me.
Anyway, I liked your blog. Someday, I hope to write a blog one day.Any advice?

The Non-Human slant is irresistable. I read a lot of Stephen King and Dean Koontz and really enjoy super non-humans. But my favorite non-human is "Gustav," the gigantic huge and ferocious man eating crocodille on "Primeval" The makers of the film made it so realistic and I have seen large alligators move just the same way. If you haven't seen it, watch it. It will curdle your blood!

You are a wonderful and talented writer. Keep up the good work.
