Review of Rapture
Review by Lesley Scott

Thid is a mystical/Si Fy storiy. I decicded to read it because I do volunteer work at the Raptor Center here is SC.. They can be dangerous and sometimes lethal. Their talons are longer than my fingers with a razor sharp end. Even Vultures are classes as raptors because they like to hunt and kill their prey.

The Ritual every years had to finally end. So Bill did what he felt he should do ---- completely put and end to such brutal sacrifices. "He kissed the blade and looked across the horizon. Despite what they do, despite what they are, he knew it was true. They only do this because they love us. An he had to end it.

The story is a good one, but I would change only a few little things. The ending could use some work. I don't think the last two sentences are necessary, but I wonn't be hurt if you don't change the ending.

Keep On Writing!

I really enjoyed your exciting story about the blood thursty Kalar. The fighting was gruesom and I read almost all of the epic story. You didn't take the coward's way out. I think you made a good decison to save yourself to fight another battle, with more chance od winning and less chance of being killed. I would never fight anyone. You could become a farmer!

Review of Fade Away

What a good story! I feel that way a lot. It's like no body pays attention or nobody cares. You remind me a lot of myself. I have these uncontrollable anxiety attacks. I even once went to the emergency room because I thought I was having a heart attack! I found out I was Bipolar and the right doctor and proper meds saved my miserable life. Look at me now!

Review of The Nightmare
Review by Lesley Scott

Rated: 13+ | (5.0)
This particular poem caught my attenion immediately. It is written in a story type format, and the poetry tells the story. The author of this poem has captured the feelings of a young boy and his nightmare. I have nightmares almost every night, but not about monsters and demonds. I usually dream I lost something, I can't find help for something and things like that I call them, "Dilemma Dreams."

You are a talented poet and I'll bet you are also a great writer. We will probably enter some of the same contests, but I'm a good sport. I don't even wtite poety.Never have. How do you write poetry? Does it just come to you like my stories just pop into my head?

Your friend,
Lesley

Review of Eternity

I thoroughly enjoyed your poem, "Eternity." I shows a lot of imagination and thought. eternity described as a valley is a nice touch. I was surprised "Eternity" would be one of those religious poems telling us we go to heaven or hell for eternity. I don't want to go to either one. Eternity is too long for my ADHD!

Keep on writing!

I don't usually read science fiction, but there was something about your story that made me want to read the chapters. I loved the way you described all of the characters. They are so real, I feel I could touch them. Athenais impressed me with her strenght, fearlessness, and character. She want to help the three shifters regain the power they lost in Utopia. The three men wanted Athenais to help them find the millenium potion to help put Paul in charge and try to save the natives of the colony her father, Marceu was murdering them for the potion, and stealing the anticdote.
"I'm in!" She laughed.
You really do write a great readable story!
Keep it up!
I haven't read the next chapter. It is past my bedtime and my sight is blurred.

Review of Enjoying the Game

I flelt like I was actually there at the game. I could almost smell it! My dad filmed games for the Citadel for over 40 years.

I'm flattered for the Fanship! Exuse my writing, my fingers are sore and bleeding from a nasty parrot bite and my exotic rats from Africa, bit me and I can't make it stop bleeding. The key board ineeds a good cleaning, don't you think"

Bye for now. I loved your story and will read the others. I admit, I am impressed.

Wonderful! How did you learn to write like that? I've tried to write poety, but I do better on the other side of the fence! One of my favorite lines is:" I call myself the Great Creator," and not "The Great Destroyer." You must be evolving!

I had a silly question. I think I know a little about Bitems, but don't know how to decide where they should be placed. I've been her a while and asked others, but didn't get any answers that were any help. I want to enter contests once I learn how to find the prompt. How is that done? Thanks for your help

I loved Dan's poem. It wasn't to long, so i kept my concentration. It was so well written, I would love to write so well. I guess he paid more attention in college. I always write with simple words from habit.

I will continue to read the 3 part version in a bit. I stayed up ALL night yesterday and got in bed around 8 o'clock in the morning! I took my bedtime Bipolar meds, which put me to sleep. Well, I just got out of bed around 9:30am. Now, I have a whole day to make up for.

When my head clears up, I plan to write. I've spent so much time reading and reviewing, I haven't even had a thought to write!

Thanks,
L.

Review of To Start Again
Review by Lesley Scott
In affiliation with WdC SuperPower Reviewers Group

I can tell you are a spiritual person. Your poem is excellent, but also sad. If I understood it right, you started your life anew and then missed the life you left behind. Is that right?

I've started anew at least a dozen times. I always go back to the real me, only I carry the lessons I have learned when I started over. No matter what life you choose or just happens, you learn from mistakes and you also learn what works best,

So if you choose to return, everything will return, as well. Now, you can lead a better life.

Anyway, that's how I saw it.

Review of The Greatest Gift

Your poem was very good and I can tell it came from your soul. I really did enjoy reading it. You are a real poet!

I am going to find An Anchor to the Soul. In the meantime, if you haven't read anything about the "Tao Te Ching," the T is pronounced "d", try to read the "Tao Te Ching" or "The Tao of Inner Peace," that's my favorite.

It was written by Lao Tzu 3,000 years ago. You will have to consentrate and even re read parts of the books. It is written in prose, but whoever translated the book explains what Lao Tzo means.

The ancient book has been translated and printed almost as much as the Bible. In fact, it promotes love, understanding, nature and many other wonderous things. The Bible is full of half-truths, fiction, it's unclear about who wrote what and some of the passages were written by men two or three hundred years after the death of Christ.

I did my time in Church and tried so hard to believe. I attended church from age 3 in Bible School on up until I was 18 and started working. When I was a teenager, the Sunday School teacher asked me to leave because I was disturbing the class by asking questions about the Bible and what some of the verses meant.

I get the feeling she didn't know either. All I remember was her telling me to "take it on Faith." That sounded to me when I was 15 that to believe in God and the Bible, you should remain ignorant.

Since then, I have read piles of books on Christianity and I am horrified what was done to the Jews and other so-called "non-believers." The Church had so many horrible ways to torture those innocent people just because they didn't believe in the same way.

I've also read books by Richard Dawkins and Hitchins and other Atheists. Though it was pointed out the flaws and mistruths of religion, atheists don't go from door to door trying to spread the word, asking for money or try to convince people there is no God. People need to believe, so why tell them any different?

Carl Sagan, my biggest hero, spent most of his life trying to find God. He did experiments, physics, interviews, travelled to the Holy Land, attended church and still found no proof of God. On his deathbed, he told his wife, "I'm still not sure."

Didn't mean to run on, especially since I don't know if you are Catholic, Jewish, or Born Again. I respect the beliefs of others. They have that right. But I did my time in Church (Methodist) and the few times I attended at Christmas with my mother, I had panic attacks. I wanted to run out of the room!

I promised myself and told my mother, "I can't do this anymore." I do a lot of reading and a little writing and I don't feel like I need religion. I am a good person, never hit anyone, always helpful and respectful. I'm more concerned with right now than with Heaven. Oh, I asked a pastor what do we do when we go to Heaven and he told me, "We worship Him." Not me.

Desmond Morris,a zoologist and anthropologist wrote in "The Naked Ape" that man invented God to have someone to bow and scrape to. I wonder how true that is

It's way past my bedtime. I hope I didn't upset you. I do believe in life, love and happiness. I am also going to find "An Anchor for the Soul." I am always open to anything. Nothing is written in stone.

Review of Dear World

Very thought provoking, and so true. The last few sentences reminded me of "Te Tao Te Ching," written 3,000 years ago by a wise man named Lao Tzu. His writings have been translated almost as much as the Bible. His work makes more sense than the Bible, which is full of untruths, distorted and made up facts and I have never been able to believe. The "Tao" is good, pure, simple and full of love. It is the path I choose to follow.

I don't want to convert you. That would not be fair. Everyone is entitlled to their own beliefs. God has helped millions overcome their problems. I am the only one who can heal myself and overcome my problems. However, we all need a little help sometimes. That's what family and friends are for!

Though it was a little long and took me a while to read and re read the piece, I must admit, it was great! I guess you can tell I love horses and have 50 years of experience with them and still learning. I don't have equines anymore. I live in the city.

I look forward to reading more of your stuff! I just have to do some more reading and I've been trying to start on a story about a giant snake holding a rural community hostage. It's a true story! I was part of it, too.

That really did crack me up, Maryanne! I read a bit about inconsistencies and ridiculousness of the Bible. I lean more towards Te Tao Te Ching. It's all about respecting nature. I also read Richard Dawkins, who is a confimed and funny Atheist and several others. I also love to read about what really happened and not what history would lead us to believe! It's a riot!

Anyway, I can't wait for my husband to get home so I can read "Interpeting the Bible." It is one of the best pieces on the Bible I have read. The other ones I read are too damn serious and critical. Your version is better.

I don't have anything critical to say about this piece. Why don't you make some blatant mistakes so I can find them --- not that I could.
