Hello, G (3) and thank you for your words, "I Blame". I can perhaps understand the feeling behind the words you wrote. They are good thoughts that mean a lot more than the words you wrote. In a way, a reader would look/read your words and most probably (as I did) feel a bit sorry that one has to blame another. Whether or not your words are feelings that came from your heart, it is something that a reader would probably either agree with or most probably disagree. However, as I read your words, I can just picture myself saying the same words when I reach a situation when I would not be able to contain myself; and just go ahead and blame "mom".
However, when the feeling of frustration finally fades away; and we come face to face with the fact we have to blame somebody else; we realize that most probably we should blame ourselves rather than somebody else; especially "mom".
"Mom" is a beautiful word as well as a wonderful thought, especially when we think that "mom" is the one person in life whose heart and mind are truthful and "unblameable" for what would and should happen to "us" or you and I. Because we actually should blame ourselves much more than somebody else, especially "mom".
When I think of "mom", I picture someone who is "human"; a person who dedicates her life to making someone else much more "human" than "mom" herself. I think of "mom" as a paragon of goodness and mercy as well as love, beauty, and selflessness. "mom" is all love, all beauty, all goodness, all humanness. "Mom" is indeed Mom!!!!!!!

Anyhow, your "little poem" did catch my eyes and that is why I read it. Your "Little Poem" maybe just a few words. However, those few words bring things clear to us, and possibly remember that maybe the only person one can blame in one's life is oneself. As humans we have the tendency to put blame on another, whether or not it is "mom", pop or somebody else
What a beautiful way to write all about "love" and "love connection" as in "A Love Conection". We write and read and more so; and we do it because we feel the love of those close to us; our family perhaps; or just cousins or aunties/uncles or just brothers and sisters. There is a prayer in every connection with those we love; and there is love in every prayer we utter, at night before we go to sleep; in the morning when we wake up refreshed and freshly-alive. We somehow know there is a presence; something that is beyond our daily thoughts and imaginings; a connection that makes us listen and believe that there is a God, who listens and knows us as we are. A connection...
In the "Scary Dark", we face something that gives us "Goosebumps" as per this short tale of sweat and heart thumping... First, there is the "sweat pouring", the heart thumping as well as "the wind" that "whipped the curtains away"; and also the feeling of "chills up my spine", which added to the "eeling that someone was behind me"; all these and more. Are we frozen yet? Then, "the door slowly opened" and the "heart resumed its marathon race" to where?
This short tale is an example of how to frighten oneself into thinking of a "creature behind the door" that would definitely create a storm of fear. Nevertheless, it is such a good example of how a writer would present something that is out of the ordinary...
"Youth" tells of lost years; of "remembering" the young days of youth; of memories about "good times"; and of admitting one is "older now". Why think of going "back"? Acceptance of having grown older should suffice to hold on to memories because that is what memories are for: to remember, to hold on to something special; a yesterday of youth...
War is one reason people have become strangers to each other. Not only as strangers but as far away from each other as possible. There is no more "understanding", no more human concern for each other; and the worst of it all, the human kindness in the hearts of people have been destroyed, dismantled, and became nothing more than a word that is uttered without meaning or without the human love for each other. We have lost hearts; we have lost kindness; we have forgotten the rule: love one another as I have loved you...
We are forever lost in our own selfishness, lost and without love to and for each other; lost forever because we have become nothing more than a cold stone... We are forever lost in a strange and loveless world because we have forgotten the many wonderful things that love and patience and understanding mean to us.
In the absence of love, what else is there but war?????
In addition to the meaning of "hope", as per "Kim", I would like to add: "hope" is the light that we see when we are in "darkness", a sense of "light" that sparks within our hearts as we find ourselves totally "darkened" by anger, suspicion, hatred, discouragement, disappointment, dislike; it is a beautiful feeling of conscious redemption as we try to find a way out of a deep "hatred" that seems to penetrate the very sacred and inner heart within us.
Being "Older Now" as well as "being 60" is really one of the wonderful things that happen to us. Just you wait until you get to 92. Actually it is the best thing in life, I mean when you get to a certain age, which somehow it came to you and to everyone we know as a homo sapien. It is the most adventurous things in life, getting to a certain age, and finally realizing you are there...
Age is just a number; it is something we all arrive at, at some age, that is. Have you ever wondered, though, what it would be like not arriving at some "place" after all the long journey of life? It is indeed fun to know we have arrived, even if we try very, very hard not to get there, whatever that age is!!!!!!! As I mentioned, "age" is just some word that may or may not mean anything at all, until we realize we are indeed humans; and arriving at some age is just a part of getting there; and thank goodness, we do get there!!!!!!!!
Yes, isn't it "a shame duct tape can't mend a broken heart"? However, writing helps; it takes away the "sadness" of a "broken heart". Put your feelings on paper and you realize it is a tremendous help to "mend" how a "heart" can be mended...
Why does "Snowing Snowing" urges someone to create a poem? What does snow means to the writer? It gives the writer a feeling of "brightness", of "beauty" and of much appreciattion for the "boldness" and "coldness" of snow. It gives someone a feeling of appreciation of the coldness, of the way snow falls, and how it feels within the writer. It is most understanding to appreciate something cold that falls out of the sky; it is a great feeling to let others know that "snow" is not just, plain, snow because to the writer snow comes as cold and bold as well as "glistening and glowing" and it is snowing it the writer's part of town!!!!!
"Farmers" is a short tale about the men and women who toil the land. It is a truly great read that tell us why farmers should be appreciated; and why we are living specimen of the value of their work. Hurrah!!! Hurrah!!! Hurah!!!
"I wont live past 30" is a short little tidbit about dying. I believe we all think of dying, however, this short tale does tell us that because the father died at age "29", that he/she, too, will die before reaching the age of 30.
When we write, we show much of ourselves through our writing. We believe in many things, and because of what beliefs we have we tell ourselves that many of what we write is true. However, in this instance, the writer did not mention why the "dad" died young. I think it is good to know what and why the father died of. Then, it can be assumed that not living past the age of "30" is part and parcel of one's life....
How "Hilarious" should a story be? Enough to raise a smile or a teeny laughter? Well, I think I would like to comment that this little tale does bring laughter and more, I believe, to be really noticed. How does one really feel when one is "DAMN cheated..."? I suppose one should laugh, too?
Hilarity is the point of this little tale; and in order to see the "scam" in this little episode, one must laugh out loud!!!!!!
It is good to realize that writers, like this writer, has a good sense of "hilarity". Carry on with the humor, writer.....
After reading "And I Did It", I had a chuckle!!!! What an accomplishment!!!! Can someone imagine the heart-rending will to wait and smash a mosquito between two hands?????? Well done, I would say; the author deserves a reading, surely.
"Memories and sadness" are dominant factors in "27 Years", a short write about remembering people who have gone ahead of us. Why do we write about 'memories and sadness'? Because they are factors that make us believe there is love within us; that there are unending 'sadness' to our 'memories' as well as love and laughter to keep us remembering people who have gone ahead of us.
"Without Looking Back", in its shortness, brought to the front the very words that were said; the hurt that lingered within one's heart; the 'last tears' that were shed; for the end of a "courage" within a love.
Poems are expressions of the heart that give courage to writers. And writing becomes a memory, a memory that reminds us that writing is precious. Poems are valind works that keep hearts brave. And crying becomes the poet's response to memories.
"Mango Ice Cream" is just lovely!!!!!! Thank you, Naomi, for making it!!!!! I just love it; I mean the mango and the ice cream!!!!! And together!!!! What fun!!!!! Did you know that mango is my favorite fruit? And that I come from Manila, left Manila for Hongkong, and then left Hongkong for England; and now I live in Sacramento, California, my home for the final years of my life.
I always read you when I see you and what you write about. Sometimes, I feel I should not have left the Philippines. However, it seems my life became me when I decided to work with the Church of Christ in Hongkong, which is why I left Manila. And now I am a British citizen, having married a Brit almost 20 years ago!!!!! However, he passed away recently; and in my aloneness, I realized I am missing him a lot...
I shall and truly try your Mango Ice Cream, to help me out of my aloneness, just for a short time, though...
"Smile...." is a great advice that any one can and should use, whether or not she/he is driving, walking, swimming, riding, etc. It is one advice that should be taken as seriously as one manages to live among people and within one's self.
We all love writing because we want others to understand what it is we love to say; and make our tales much more clear for others to fully realize; that what we are writing about is something to "smile" for.
"Guide Me, Lord" is a short tale about a woman who was on her way to buy the week's groceries. It is a sort of a "miracle" story, short and to the point. And the point is: a grateful heart for avoiding a car accident.
We all go through something like this story: something that we would call a "miracle" because there was no accident that would have caused death and/or injuries. There was the strength of heart and mind of the woman driver as she remembered to drive with care. Otherwise, it would have been a loss of "life and limb".
We need to write stories similar to "Guide Me, Lord" because this tale gives us a strong feeling that if we use care as we drive, we get the satisfaction that we used our own strength of mind and spirit as we drive and avoid accidents.
"Mary's skirt incident" made me laugh!!! It is an incident that happens to almost any girl. It is a reminder to any girl, in fact, to be aware of. I, myself, went through something like this tale many, many years ago. And it is totally embarrasing!!!
No matter, though, because "Mary" and her friend would definitely know what to do next time something like this should happen again!!!!!!
"July 2006" tells us of the beginning of "war in Lebanon." It is a short piece that tells of the many terrible events that may happen in one's own country. It hints of "Flames of red and orange" that burn; of "thunderous explosion" that rocks the city; of fear in the hearts of people as their country is "ravaged" by bombs; and of "plumes of black smoke" that "climb into the air". How does one struggle against years of war? How does one feel the destruction of one's country?
It is indeed a terrible happening that one's country goes through a war. It is devastating and most of all experiencing war is the most inhuman event for people who believe that war is evil.
"Navigating the Path of Language Learning" is a short piece that believes in "acquiring a new skill" as well as improving oneself through the acquisition of communication and "comprehending the world". Language learning gives one the opportunity to learn, to embrace global culture, to meet and understand challenges and to "thrive not only in college but also in real-life situations."
This short piece is a great challenge to communicate and understand the many challenges we face in life as well as have the skill to try and master the many situations we face as we study and learn to communicate properly. In short, this short piece does impress upon us that learning and understanding are part and parcel of life.
"Childhood memory" reminds us of what happened in the good old days; the many things that make us understand and make us realize that the memories of years past are what we are today and what we become in the future. We learn from our past as we move on with hopes and with the understanding that our tomorrow is solid, guided by the many memories of "yesteryear".
Yes, indeed!!! "God's Got This" and not only this but also that, then, and what... All one needs to do is believe; believe that God is there, is always there with you, with us, with any one of us. We sometimes forget; or we get much, much too busy to bring our sorrows, our loads, our angers, our problems to the God who is our comfort, our life, our hope in every little thing that happens or may happen to us.
Such great words to remember: "God's got" whatever there is within us, among us and for us. God is there for us; for the many things that we do, God is with us; and we will get through whatever hardship there is because God is God, our life.
"How do you move on?" is a short piece of writing that deals with one's ability to "move on" after a person experiences tragedy; such as the passing of a loved one; how to be able to continue living after an experience of tragedy; how to "snap back into reality" when one's wife/husband passes on?; how to "move on if you're still stuck in a time freeze of crying" because you have been deserted by your loved one?
It is indeed a tragedy to experience any of the above situations, and finding a way to get out of such experiences is truly difficult. However, learning to cope is indeed one of the things we, as individuals, do go through in life. We somehow find a way to look into our hearts and find a way to cope, to understand and to get help from those who are able to give us the strength of mind and spirit to be able to cope.
