Interlude

Now I know its like
shattered glass.
Pieces of you, pieces of me
offering differing points of view.
We live in a splinter all our own.
Sometimes joined but never whole.
Feeling our way forward, in the silence
of the sun.
Each encounter met with bated breath.
Waiting for that sound, that voice.  That laugh
that is the one.
