A short description of the world I see as a tree climber
Frigid, scathing. An icy blast shrieking through, penetrating to the core. Grey on grey background. The green long gone but certainly not dead. Sleep. Just the cycle repeating. So very old. Oh! But the tenacity for life! Lowest level of activity, won’t be long now. The new dawn approaches! Longing for it to break.

The brown and fallen litter the landscape. Long dried and crumpled. Testament to the cycle. Arms reach far into the heavens. Stretching, stretching. Indescribable bleak beauty! Furrowed rows. Illogical randomness with complete perfection! Answering only to tranquil simplicity. Microscopic machinery operating at peak efficiency. Responding to programming incomprehensible to man. All by chance?

Truly awe inspiring. Pain? Self-awareness? Certainly no voice to speak. What marvelous tales would be woven? Witnesses through the ages. Uncaring. Uncivilized. More wisdom than the whole lot. Freedom never known. Still completely free!

Uses but gives back. Symbiosis. Everything eventually returns to the dust. Inevitability. Are marks truly left? Maybe only in recorded history. Do they know the stories of their ancestors? Dare they speak or marvel at this cursed place?

Have we any right to inflict injury? Without concern or remorse? How callous are we. Alas, it must be done to preserve lifestyle. With great care and knowledge do we continue on. Only what’s absolutely necessary. And allowing for proper wound compartmentalization.

A gratefulness permeates all. Even in the most devastating conditions, a fantastic satisfaction to simply exist. A living example like no other. And when the fullness of time comes, a jubilant celebration! Color and vibrant life as far as the eye can see! We could not survive without them. What wonderful gifts upon us bestowed!
