A short free verse poem I wrote a while in the darkness of my mental distress.

What a wonder,
What a disease,
Gnawing my mind away
With no holes in my brain.

I can’t understand.
I can’t believe.
I can’t reach the mark
Of normalcy.

I’m only happy when I bleed;
I only love when I hate.

What a wonder,
What a disease.
