I hit back when the pen hurts me.
I'm conflicted.
Continually asking myself why I can't just walk away.
Guess I'm addicted.

Or is this life's trickery?
On with the day to day;
The world doesn't stop just to sympathise.

Here I lay, watching the rain as it pours.
Beating itself for spite & for what feels like hours.
It cleanses my addled mind, the thoughts that race through the night.
And as it runs down my face, I look to my heart & write.

I compete with her, catch up on my terms.
Chasing the endless dream.
We have always been soul surfers;
Seeking someone, something.

Somedays it's imagination.
Somedays it's all too real.
She's a live wire that's spoiled me;
The heat, the electricity; the utter sex appeal.

Spellbound am I for that which she cast,
A beautiful poison, I can no longer resist.
Just a drop of her, just a taste;
Nothing is enough, you can't have but an inch.

Feel too much. Let it hurt.
Chase the highs, it's complex.
To war with one's soul,
War & great sex.

Under covers with your soul,
lays your true self in wait.
To be marvelled, to be unravelled;
By those who alleviate the pain.

Released inhibitions;
Policed undue feelings.
