when no one is out
when bars and restaurants are all closed

but still young at heart
when over 60s gatherings are in bingo halls
and everyone thinks you are looking for men
when nothing could be further from the truth
So you go online
to seek others like you
fingers crossed when when put out your name
a picture too, if you are that game
and chat you do to others like you
saying all the right things
to entice you
so lets meet to have a chat
find a place for a coffee
or maybe a wine
but this disease has us all in a bind
excuses are made why we can't meet
others to consider or some other excuse
it seems being honest is a thing of the past.

Being a gay woman and well past your prime
doesn't mean you can't love
or find the time
to chat
to talk
and maybe more,
being old in this world is some sort of a crime
means you can't love or have sex
most of the time
being alone in later life
is as cold and empty
as it can ever be
There is still for loving in 2020.
