A brief journal entry about my writing journey that I wish to share

Today I spent most of it reading different works from different authors and doing research for my novel. I feel inspired by what I have read and hope that the book that I am working on will be on the level of some of the authors that I have read. I am feeling a bit overwhelmed on the research side of things just because I don't know where to start or what I should take down as notes to use and what I shouldn't. I don't want to overdo things with my story and have it die before I finish my first rough draft. Other than that, I would say today was great for my writing journey.
