Terra has a quick encounter with Meysa in the grow room |
As she got into her room, Terra sighed from relief. Taking off her shoes and dress in favour of changing into something more comfortable, she was glad that she was in Research and Development rather than being posted in the party rooms upstairs. She could leave that kind of stuff to Scarlett and Jolt, people who enjoyed the company of others. Very much content with her little section of the underground bunker, Terra would much rather be alone than with the other angels. Company was generally boring, and she knew that others – especially Jolt – would probably stare at her and dream of doing naughty things. Such was the curse of having a beautiful body and face. No, she preferred her little niche. Terra had been offered a job here for two reasons; one was her special powers over animals, plants and earth, being the green angel. But Scarlett didn’t put her in the think tank for that. She was here because she was smart, and had more than proved that by multiple breakthroughs which led to new fields of productive study for the other researchers. As soon as she was comfortable, Terra opened her door and snuck out as quietly as she could, going to the grow room opposite her quarters. Within it, she found her babies doing well in the artificial light of the lamps, growing big and strong. Terra was allowed to spend quite a lot on this setup, Scarlett’s way of meeting her in the middle ground. They compromised on building this large room instead of a full on animal sanctuary, as it would have been way too expensive at the time this bunker was constructed. Terra reached forth and felt the soil between her hands, smiling and putting some power into the earth. She sensed that her children were thirsty, so she turned on the drippers to feed them some water. “I swear, you guys are my only friends aside from Meysa and Stella...” she whispered, sitting down in her comfy chair. “Good to know.” said a voice from the door. Meysa, leaning against the frame. She came in and closed it behind her, the door auto-locking. “To what do I owe the pleasure?” asked Terra, watching her friend walk across the room to the wall console. “I’m only ensuring the system update is working properly. You know how I am. I won’t disturb your peace.” “You’re one of the few people I can tolerate.” said Terra, crossing her long legs over one another in her seat, green eyes catching her own reflection in one of the glasses on the table next to her. Large lips, gorgeous green eyes, and long silky black hair that flowed naturally over her shoulders. Terra clicked her tongue and shoved the glass in the drawer, not being a fan of her own reflection. As much as she was told she was a wonderful sight, she didn’t believe it. If anyone wanted pretty they could just look at Meysa, not her own chubby body. Terra then stood up and walked over to the plants, aiming to do something constructive with her emotions rather than let them fester. Pouring the rage she had into the soil in the form of her power, the plants began to look visibly healthier, and a few sparkles surrounded them as they grew bit by bit. Once all the negative energy had been turned into something positive and Terra was satisfied, she proceeded to open the water valves a little more to compensate for the enlarged size of the plants. “You know, I’ve been thinking.” she started. Meysa turned around to face her friend. “Is it possible we could try a little experiment sometime? I want to see if we can create a new type of plant.” “Sure, but you’ll have to run it by Scarlett if you want that as an official project.” said Meysa, her blue eyes looking over the large tables. “Oh, no no, I meant between us. I don’t want Scarlett to spend any more money on me than she already is.” “Very considerate, aren’t you?” said Meysa, putting her arms over her chest. “Put together an idea of what you want and mail it to me direct. I’ll see if it’s plausible to splice some strands together.” “Thanks Meysa. Oh, and... love the new earrings. Did Jolt get them for you?” “Yeah. She saw them and thought they’d look good on me. I agree.” said Meysa, touching them. Terra saw her mouth flinch in a little smile for the first time in a while, and an ever so slight blush came across her cheeks. It vanished almost as soon as it appeared as Meysa realized she wasn’t alone. “Anyway. I have some other consoles to check, so I’ll see you later.” Terra couldn’t help but smirk a little as she saw Meysa walk out the room. She too yearned for a bit of love, but she was yet to come across someone who piqued her interest. Maybe one day she’d find them. One day, she’d be happy with more than just plants and animals. With more than just feeling the dirt in her hands. |
