Story of an untenable injury for a father

“Doctor, I think I broke something,” I stated when he entered the room.

“What do you think you broke?”

“My funny bone.”

“Your elbow?”

“I don’t know. Whichever is my funny bone.”

The doctor stared at me opening and closing his mouth slowly. “Why do you feel you broke your funny bone?”

“No matter how many jokes I tell my kids, all they do is groan. It’s like I don’t know how to deliver a joke. My funny bone must be broken.”

The doctor snorted and laughed. “Your funny bone is fine. Your problem is a case of dad jokes.”
