The world will never know another album crafted the way this one was, and even if there were minds still alive humanly possible and and capable of doing so, it would now cost way too much money to actually replicate something close to the legendary recipe of the Beastie Boys' Paul's Boutique album. A furious mix of samples, deft lyricism, pop culture references, and my veering on full-blown teenage rebellion in 1989...a record born from the dying gasps of 80's materialism and the last breaths of that decade's indulgences, while dealing with a newfound popularity and all its trappings.
Full disclosure: this is a new exercise for me. I don't write fiction; at least I don't very well.
But boys will be boys...and baseball will die a slow, painful death as long as it's still the game that ties neighborhoods together as long as I'm old enough swing a bat and there's grass on the field.
There might be uncomfortable moments...I'll try to do my best to edit out the curse words.
