| The Water Drop in grasping the holdless ceiling defies the sight and mind of man denies the fact of river lake and stream proposes cloudbed rivers borne by windy banks to seas and oceans of the sky. Line count: 8 Free verse For Express It In Eight, 09.14.24 Prompt: Write a ceiling poem. Note: This is a bit of a cheat since it was actually written in 1970 and is not brand new therefore. It fitted the prompt so well and I was feeling equally uninspired that I felt I might get away with pointing at it today. It is also unusual that, in order for it to make sense, the title should be read as though it were the first line of the poem. |
