Mess

a stray spray of writing tools
spread out upon a cloth
notebooks pens and post it notes
scattered but aligned
a living testament to the chaos in my mind
still more I need to prepare
snacks, ice water, tissues
yes those and more to satisfy my issues
a cat my cat
where is that muse
creativity my brain can't use
time to write and pay my dues.
