To record and track my progress |
| Three hundred words are due today. I am worried about Papa. Shannon is not taking care of him like he needs. She can not be bothered to make sure he gets out of bed and gets dressed. I do not think she is even seeing to it that he eats more than once a day. She has the blessing of being able to keep him in his home because she basically lives two apartments over and could just drop in to check on him two or three times a day, but she does not not even make the attempt. She is his medical power of attorney but can not even manage to properly make and get him to his appointments. I would gladly bring him into our home to see to it he is properly cared for, but my wife does not think she could stay in this house if he died here, and I am not sure either of us could maintain our mental health while watching him decline further. Worse bringing him here is likely to only be a brief stay of a nursing home placement. He has Parkinson's and it is not like he is going to improve. Enough of that. I am going to set... Looked away from my phone for two minutes and completely lost the ending for that sentence. My memory and focus is not what it once was. I have trouble remembering the names of my characters, though that has always been a problem. They can slip my mind as far as halfway through the first draft. At least I can go back and double check my notes. My problem is that during the initial development of the story I do not always think to take those notes. So Savannah becomes Susan become Serendipity. And the real dumb is when I remember the original name of the character during the rough draft, and the original name, while cool does not match the character she has become. |
