Friday I went to a luncheon where about 75 ladies were in attendance. The program was about hats and everyone was told to wear a hat and if you didn't wear your own hat there, there was a table full of hats to choose from and you got to keep it. So fun, I only own a Stetson which is appropriate at a horse show but not at this luncheon so I came away with the cutest black cocktail hat. I am sure I'll never wear it but I am now inspired to go buy a hat of my own that I would wear. People at the country club were staring whenever one or more went out of the banquet hall to the restroom etc.

Katya, Go As A River is recently published in Feb 2023 and is the first book for this author. I got it through Barnes and Noble, I often read recommended books from their Book Club. The cool thing is, if you have questions or comments for some of the recommended books they have a Zoom meeting with the author at a specific time and day following the month it was recommended. You submit your comments or questions to the coordinator ahead of the Zoom meeting so the author can address your thoughts. If you liked Where the Crawdad's Sing, you will probably like this one. Not quite on the same plain but in the same genre.

Side note: It was through Barnes and Noble, when they used to provide online classes as a way of selling their books, that I became interested in reading and writing poetry. I took their course on "How to Read a Poem" and got involved with others on line taking the same course and started writing for the first time in my then 59 years.

This book is currently empty.
