Wonderful poem that links footprints to bits and pieces of our memories over the years.
As we get older, we do leave a mark behind - footprints if you will - and even as they fade away, they'll always linger and be a reminder of what we once were.

Objects in mirror are closer than appear
that reflected world is smaller than here
in miniature depicted in sharpest clarity
do not be fooled by this similarity.
Strangest of all in this tiny universe
it seems that all things have gone in reverse
landscapes depart in unseemly haste
released from our vision as soon as embraced.
