Hi Jayne, It isn't really a frame or structure, that is up to you as the poet. The word echo is not a requirement. Don't over think it. It is a technique that asks the poet to "echo" usually the end sound of the previous line in some way. It can be a long line followed by a shorter line or the other way around. Technically one could say rhymed couplets where end words echo the previous end word is an echo poem but that is really an over simplification. The concept of the Echo poem is really "word play" and "sonics" and the question / answer technique shows that off best. It is harder than it looks, note I haven't written one yet but I'm working on it. ~~Tink |
