The original link to the originator's description disappeared but there is still one available. Basically, it is twelve lines of blank verse written in iambic hexameter instead of pentameter: 12 lines x 12 syllables per line = 1 gross. Of course, the fact that the originator's name was Larry Gross might have something to do with it, too.
