A place for discussion on poetry, reviews, contests, etc. |
sorry this is late but I've been in the hospital for seizures and internal bleeding the last week. here is my attempt at this hautt. The Hautt, pronounced "howt," is another gem gleamed from Pathways for the Poet by Viola Berg. She devised this form and presented it "in honor of Dr. William Hautt, a contemporary Christian educator and administrator of considerable note." The structure consists of six unrhymed lines with syllable counts in a symmetrical 4, 5, 2, 2, 5, 4 pattern. The content should reflect "the pursuit of wisdom or the teaching of eternal truth," with each line ending with a strong word |
