Lisa, This is so endearing. Love it.

Much of the poem is written in an iambic pattern unstress-Stress. Trochaic meter is Stress-unstress within this form the last metric foot is catalectic or minus the unstressed syllable. Lines 4, 6 and 7 are trochaic but the rest need a little work to get the pattern SuSuSuS/ SuSuS Your first 3 lines are uSuSuSS / uSuSS / uuSuSuS / SuSuSu. At least that is how I hear it. Dave is better at meter than me, he may shed more light.

Anyway, the poem is lovely.
