"Squealing sound" is still personification, because it involves only one sense: hearing. Something like "rancid sound" would involve both taste and hearing. In "Nautical Twilight" the tangy taste of a ripe sunrise, accompanied by the color crescendo of Beethoven's Fifth uses the senses of taste, sight, and sound to describe the "sunrise." Let the creativity flow from your soul! Dave "The Poet's Place " |
