innerlight   , good for you! I'm so glad your poetry has helped you deal with and celebrate your life experiences. It sounds like you've gone through some trials, and now you're stronger than ever. We who write poetry are lucky to have such an outlet to express ourselves. When I look back through all my years of poetry, I see the highs and lows of my life - changes, sorrow, happiness, fears, bravery, acceptance, fury, surprises, and disappointments - right there on paper. (Well, virtual paper.) Even my poems that are not autobiographical have some reflection of my spirit that shines through. Recently, I found a quotation about poetry, then lost it. I can't remember who said it either, but the last sentence sticks with me: "Poetry makes it easier to breathe." For some of us, I think that's really true. Stay well, Solace.Bring  |
