innerlight We who write poetry are lucky to have such an outlet to express ourselves. When I look back through all my years of poetry, I see the highs and lows of my life - changes, sorrow, happiness, fears, bravery, acceptance, fury, surprises, and disappointments - right there on paper. (Well, virtual paper.) Even my poems that are not autobiographical have some reflection of my spirit that shines through. Recently, I found a quotation about poetry, then lost it. I can't remember who said it either, but the last sentence sticks with me: "Poetry makes it easier to breathe." For some of us, I think that's really true. Stay well, Solace.Bring |
