Nice poem Dave, you need to share more. And thank you for the Frost poem. I thought I had read them all but I don't remember reading this one. Reading it aloud, the sonics are amazing.

The Haunting

Words replay in my mind,
I hear them clearly.
A moment's pause, a kinder phrase,
I could have said more, or less.
Too late, it's said, no rewrites now.
So why does it haunt me?

I tell myself, it's in the past.
We've made amends, life moved on,
and yet, I see, I hear,
that moment when . . . . .
again and again.
