Many, many times at various stages of my life. British authors to begin with, from maybe Enid Blyton's Famous Five books, through to the great Victorian adventure writers. Then around the age of 12, I met a certain Mr Mark Twain and my focus went trans-Atlantic. Joseph Heller's Catch 22 has been a bible for life. I binge read all his books after that, but with growing disappointment I'd have to say. Which brings me to the point I want to make - sadly, binges don't always deliver.
