Since you're Christian I could point out Paul and James. The community I was exposed to as a child was "believe and that should be enough" which seems more Pauline in origin. But James... emphasized actions based on transformation. Of course, as someone who is NOT that well versed in the Bible, I could be wrong; however, actions do matter imho. Re health: in my case I made a decision in Thailand to exercise every day... because I could... I needed to... and I could see the exercise stations looking out my window. I did so every day and kept track of it in a notebook and here in my blog. It was a "healthy habit" you'd possibly say. Positive 'belief' didn't strengthen my right leg or help me lose some weight; action did. |
