Very much echoing Beholden. There are plenty of things I could regret, and I flirt with it now and again, but realize I have no idea what the outcome would have been if I'd changed course at the time. Are there things I would apologize for if given the chance? Maybe one or two, but overall, I made the best decisions based on the info available at the time. Regrets are kind of useless if you can't change them or won't take action to do something different with yourself going forward. It's like worrying. You feel like you're doing something productive but you're not. Best analogy I've seen is that both are like sitting in a rocking chair - you're moving, sure. But you aren't going anywhere. |
