Genetics? Probably. Expectations placed on us as children? Maybe some of that, too.

As a teacher, I've learned to prioritize improvement over perfection, and it's what I preach to my students, but I'm simpatico with the perfectionists on my roster. Some of us have to climb uphill in the snow to let go of the need to achieve perfection.
