The Solar 1 Boost Satellite in operation

An illustration for the story Project Hermes. This is a conceptual image of how a solar amplifier could work. The sun's rays are collected by the primary mirror array and reflected to the secondary mirror. The secondary mirror collimates the beam and sends it into space to drive a solar sail.
