Goals

We're getting closer to the end of 2024, so how did you do with your goals for the year?

I'm terrible at keeping up with goals, mainly because I forget what goals I set. *Laugh* One goal that I have been able to keep track of is books that I've read. I keep track using two different websites, and I have a notebook or two where I keep notes on each book. Maybe it's overboard, but, hey, I've kept my eye on my goal that way!

For me, the key to sticking to a goal or resolution is to keep it at the front of my mind. I have to keep notes in my calendars, reminders, little things to keep me focused on it. Otherwise, I might forget...

Motivation is another key factor. Reading is something I actually want to do, so crossing books off my list feels good to me! (And it frees up space in my library to buy more books!)

So the two key tips of advice I can give toward keeping next year's goals is to pick something you actually want to do, and then find ways to keep it in mind all year!

Good luck! What are your goals for 2025? Here are some ideas:

*Idea* Reviews! Make a commitment to review a certain number of Writing.Com items per day/week/month! Don't forget that there are daily gift point awards for reviewing, various contests and places you can get rewarded for your reviews, like "Good Deeds Get CASH! and you can get your name on the top Reviewers List! (Don't forget to review things like contests or activities like polls or quizzes! All items deserve reviews!)

*Idea* Contests! Enter a contest every month. Or two! There are SO many that you're sure to find one to spark some creativity!

*Idea* Read! Even if you don't get time to review, reading is essential to learning the craft of writing! Don't forget that you can favorite and fan fellow WDC members so you can follow their newest writings on the site!

*Idea*Write! Of course, most of us found this site through our own writing endeavors! While reviewing and entering contests are excellent ways to flex our creative muscles, don't forget to write for yourself, too! Work on that novel or poem or even writing in a journal or blog! Keep on writing! *Smile*

Take care, and as always, keep on writing! *Quill*
