Slept well, but woke up too darn early! No, it's okay really. I like to get up early. The birds are already singing in the darkness, coaxing the sun to arise.

I want to go to church this morning. Then I'll get some coins and do my laundry. Those are my must-do items for today. My dirty clothes have been piling up for a couple of weeks now. I look forward to the day when a washer and dryer are more accessible.

I've been here for five months now and am still very much alone --- except for my savior, who sticks closer than a brother. He is my saving grace.

Want to take a walk today... as soon as the sun rises.

         God speed.

Weird. Thought it was Thursday until I saw all the girls in jeans today at the office. I was like, "Man, don't tell me it's Friday. I thought it was Thursday." Actually made my day all the more better.

It has been a hectic week and I got a lot accomplished personally and at work.

Yesterday, as I was walking out of Starbucks a severe pain hit me in the left knee area. It was excruciatingly stronger as I got into my car. Then at the office, I whinced in pain every time I moved. Whoa! So, I made an appointment to see an orthopaedist.

Today, I went to see the orthopaedist for a 2:30pm appointment. I was relieved to find I have a common problem associated with running and sports... I used to run regularly just a few years back until I started walking to be more gentle on my joints. He prescribed an anti-inflamatory and set me up with a few sessions of physical therapy. He said that he can help me. Yay! Hip, hip horray!

I returned to the office at about 4:10pm and rushed to electronically file an Answer in one case and a Demand for Jury Trial in another and then hustled to get letters copied and into the mail. Today is the beginning of Mardi Gras downtown Mobile. I had to get out of the office before 5:30pm or be stuck in traffic. Made it out timely. Yay!

Came straight home, changed, poured a glass of wine and turned on the boob tube... the ID (Investigation Discovery) channel. There is a guy on there tonight whom I know, from working for an attorney in St. Pete. Steve Lamb is telling his story of receiving/smuggling marijuana into St. Pete. Interesting.

Have a nice weekend. I intend to do the same. God bless!

This is the day that the Lord hath made; I will rejoice and be glad in it!

There is nothing to fear but fear itself.

I am happy, smiling... started the morning with a few laughs. My kitty ram-racing and attacking my bedclothes... Then my friend, Elmo, on facebook.

God is great; God is good...

Going to have my left knee examined today by an Orthopedist. I guess it's better than a pain in the a___. Maybe the pain is subconscious --- a reflection of my financial chaos right now. I'll think about that tomorrow.

I had an appointment at 4pm tonight; so, I worked through lunch and left at 3:30pm.

Why is money or lack thereof always an issue? I work hard and don't make enough to stick in my nose. When I was still in St. Pete, I applied and applied for a second job (part-time) to get my finances in order... no offers... not for lack of trying.

I move here and everything I do is wrong... Got out my 401k money so I could continue to pay my bills and feel less pressure. Lived an unbearable existence. Finally, found work after five months. Recently took my tax information to an accountant. I may have to PAY additional taxes this year... a penalty for withdrawing my 401k. There is no rhyme or reason in this world. Whatever I do seems to be wrong.

Am barely making it, unable to keep up with my bills ---- my salary? not enough to survive on. I work hard, but who cares. It doesn't matter. I can't seem to do anything right ---- whatever I do, backfires.

Do I sound like PPP (poor, pitiful Pearl)? Sorry. I guess I'm venting.

Am preparing to file for bankruptcy... saw my attorney for the second time today and gave him all of my information so he can file the paperwork. $320 filing fee --- Chapter 13, debt reorganization. My monthly payment to creditors is going to be about $639 per month. Not a lot of help, I can assure you. Now, I'm wondering how I will pay my tax man and the government. I have a little over $100 left to get me through to next payday and I'm almost out of gas. Woe is me... right?

It could be so much worse... and it seems to be getting that way. There are others --- in Africa --- wondering where their next meal will come from... how they will feed their children.

         God forgive me.

Sometimes silence speaks volumes --- helping one hear distinctly, fully comprehending what mere words cannot express.

Woke up at 9:15am this morning. Late for me. Went to bed a little after 11:00pm --- also late.

The back door is open and the birds are whistling back and forth.

-----back in a minute-----

The girl who was my best friend from middle school through high school, just joined facebook. She's learning how to upload pictures. Anyway, I had to break from here because she just sent me a couple of messages and I wanted to respond while she's still on line.

I posted the coolest thing yesterday... a limerick. A few people viewed, but no comments. Too bad. I think it's cute and funny. It's called, THE SPINSTER'S JIG. Check it out if you want.

I was on here yesterday eager to write something when I found a limerick contest. Tho't I'd give it a go since I haven't intentionally wrote a limerick before. I enjoyed writing it. Got my funny juices flowing. Think I'll devote a whole folder to limericks. A place where I can laugh.

My friend, Paul, is getting noticed ---- his writing that is! Yes. Yay, for Paul!

Just a quick in and out...

As usual, so glad it's Friday and the work week is finally coming to a close. Tomorrow I meet with the guy who is going to prepare my income tax statement for me for 2010. Looking forward to getting it done and out of the way.

Hope when I get paid I have enough money to pay what I can --- including my annual subscription fee here --- and then get my bankruptcy certificate, make an appointment with the bankruptcy lawyer and file for Chapter 13 (that's the reorganization one). I am barely surviving here and they give increases but once a year on the job I'm working... In January they told us they were not giving any raises to staff in the Mobile office. Makes it easier to say good-bye whenever I can get it together and move back to St. Pete... or somewhere else close to there. We'll see.

A good day at work... though a mite boring. Worked on summarizing a deposition most of the day --- tedious work, but good way to know what's really going on in a case. I look at the questions asked and wonder about being a lawyer... why this or that is asked. Then I look at the response and see what's really going on and sometimes it becomes clear what the lawyer was driving at when the question was asked. Interesting ---- but at the same time monotinous. (Hope I spelled that right, but don't intend to look it up!)

So glad the work week is drawing to a close!

One day down and four to go.

My boss is in trial -- three day setting. We will see what happens. Getting ready for trial is different here than St. Pete. He pretty much gets ready on his own. I typed his exhibit list and that was it. The file hasn't been in the office for about a month; so wasn't even able to keep it up-to-date. Weird... but nice as well.

Yesterday I worked on finishing up a tape and then prepared letters to non-party medical providers. It was quiet in the office.

Hello, again. Hello. I just called to say, Hello.

It is a little dreary outside... though the birds are still chirping, which makes it a very fine morning, indeed.

I wonder sometimes about the office. I've been only taking a 30 minute lunch so I can leave at 4:30pm... some days I don't even take a lunch, but my boss continues giving me things he wants done so that I don't get out of there until 5pm. I was there at 8:10am yesterday and only breaked for probably less than 10 minutes all day... Why? I'm a whack-job. Really, I'm not making enough money to survive... so I have nothing to eat at lunch time and my shoes are not comfortable enough to walk and my pants too long for gym shoes. So, there isn't much to do at lunch time; so in my mind's eye, I might as well be working. Crazy, huh?
