Three steps forward, two steps back... People are often colder than a glacier----to the bone----heartless, unrelenting, insufferable. Truly sad. They want to hurt you but only hurt themselves on a deep level... the face of death. Their hasty judgments against you, your motives----entrap them like quicksand. While I cry, they gnash their teeth in an illusion of victory like the demons in hell at the death of our savior... before the resurrection. When I reach out, they strike with a wicked fist to beat me down to their level.

God forgive them; they know not what they do.

Just a quick note... Phillipians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." To say, I can't is to agree with the enemy. If God tells you to do something, "just do it!" Be fearless, and live by faith! Trust Him to help you.

I received the following in an e-mail --- author unknown --- and am posting them here because of the "snap" produced by each sentence:

Paraprosdokian Sentences

A paraprosdokian is a figure of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected in a way that causes the reader or listener to reframe or reinterpret the first part. It is frequently used for humorous or dramatic effect, sometimes producing an anticlimax.

Do not argue with an idiot; he will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

The last thing I want to do is hurt you, but it's still on the list.

If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong.

We never really grow up; we only learn how to act in public.

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

Evening news is where they begin with 'Good evening', and then proceed to tell you why it isn't.

A bus station is where a bus stops; a train station is where a train stops; and my desk is a work station.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire, but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

I thought I wanted a career; turns out I just wanted pay checks.

Whenever I fill out an application, in the part that says "If an emergency, notify:" I put "DOCTOR".

I didn't say it was your fault; I said I was blaming you.

Behind every successful man is his woman; behind the fall of a successful man is usually another woman.

You do not need a parachute to skydive; you only need a parachute to skydive twice.

The voices in my head may not be real, but they have some good ideas!

Hospitality: making your guests feel like they're at home, even if you wish they were.

I discovered I scream the same way whether I'm about to be devoured by a great white shark or if a piece of seaweed touches my foot.

I always take life with a grain of salt, plus a slice of lemon, and a shot of tequila.

When tempted to fight fire with fire, remember that the Fire Department usually uses water.

You're never too old to learn something stupid.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

An effective, yet uneventful day at the office. Took a nice walk during my lunch hour for the last two days in a row. Afterward, I am invigorated, relaxed and pleased with myself.

I am hoping to get in bed early tonight so as to get up earlier and make it into the office by 6am. I have a doctor's appointment at 2:30pm tomorrow and don't want to drive back and forth across the bay twice in one day.

         Have a great evening!

I am wide awake, and my mind is spinning. At some point in my life, I began worrying, obsessing over things said and unsaid. God help me relax and be the person you created me to be. I give up... surrender to your complete will, divine purpose for my life.

If it were daylight, I'd go for a walk about now.

It's official. I've gone off the deep end. Can barely pay my bills, yet I'm looking at houses... thinking maybe, just maybe, I can buy something of my own for near the same as I'm paying in rent.

I'll let you know if they laugh at me

         How quickly habits are formed.

Have since missed Sunday service for four to five consecutive weeks. God help me get back on track.

Trying to get past family-based disappointments has proven grueling; I am not there yet, and may never be the same. I know the truth, and the truth once established will not be denied.

It's cool in lower Alabama this morning. My tootsies are cold, even in slippers. I actually have on a cozy fleece jacket over my jammies. A shower is on the immediate horizon, as well as a walk in the sunshine.

I'm considering a second job... maybe a bookstore or a novelty shop.

I'm so lonesome I could cry... no, not that lonely --- yet. But would certainly enjoy some companionship, conversational exchange, camaraderie, etc. An long-time friend from high school is going shopping at Jo-Ann's today. Unfortunately, we live about 1,200 miles apart. Otherwise, I'd be there.

Though I don't have much to say, presently, I'll be getting out of here shortly and then hopefully I'll have a bit more of a contribution for the offering plate. =)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Thursday, November 25,2010, 10:50am

Two entries today --- one for "my eyes only" and one for the rest of you. Hope you're making the most of your Thanksgiving weekend --- enjoying the company of family and friends if possible.

We have clear skies this morning and warmth in Daphne, Alabama today. I have the doors closed because the A/C kicked on about an hour ago. I will be alone today with my kitty, but I am preparing a small traditional Thanksgiving meal for myself with chicken (instead of turkey) with most of the trimmings: stuffing, cranberry sauce, green bean casserole and pumkin pie. Already had a piece of pie last night and a piece this morning. Love the pie covered in whipped creme.

         Enjoy the day!

I am completely out of dairy products. Walmart is always out of the items I use ---- milk and half 'n half ---- except for off-brands with a looming expiration date. Thus, most of the milk is poured down the drain before it's used. Phooey. Looking forward to Publix moving in soon across the street. Walmart does not define me.

Nothing doing for Thanksgiving... just me and the kitty-cat. Finances are slim. I plan to turn over a new leaf and enjoy some walking over the four-day holiday weekend.

Habakkuk 3:17, 18:
Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock may be cut off from the fold and there be no herd in the stalls---
Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.
