Today, I go back to work for my second day on the job. I am experiencing intrepidation on re-entering the legal arena with its high demands, responsibility, etc. God, establish the work of my hands. Give me the wherewithal to perform the tasks at hand with efficiency.

Though retirement means I'm getting older and my life is drawing to a close, I'm looking forward to it.

It's been a pleasant weekend... major anxiety Friday after work, wondering if I am up to this again, etc., am trying to remain in a positive state of mind. Once I learn the ropes of a new office, their procedures, Alabama law, etc., as well as how to work with my new boss most efficiently, I'll be good to go---hopefully for at least another ten years. Time will tell.

Attended church this morning. The message topic was: The Winners' Circle. I definitely feel I'm in the right place.

I am watching Masterpiece Mystery on PBS. Farewell for the evening.

This morning all is quiet on the Eastern Shore. I remember my reflections on the "art of silence." Thank you, Lord.

My interview went well... I am pleased. Only God knows whether or not this is the job for me... though I tend to think it very well could be. Two other hats are still in the air as well... may any one of these land on me.

Times are tougher than I ever imagined.

May an upward shift begin to fall; and for all who are unemployed and seeking work: God speed! I pray a door opens for you that no man can shut; and peace, prosperity and new hope will grace all of your horizons, as you learn valuable lessons from the trying times you are coming through... that your future will surpass your past and astound you as well as all those gazing upon you... that you will know in your heart: If God be for you, who can be against you; nothing can separate you from His love.

All alone this morning in a house of resounding silence, I am here.

I've a job interview at 5:30pm today. After a week of nothing, no prospects... I am glad!

Be ye glad, o-oh be ye glad.
For every debt that you ever ha-ad ---
                   has been paid-up in full
by the grace of the Lord.
Be ye glad, o-oh be ye glad.

Yesterday, there were absolutely no positions to apply for in the newspaper... nothing online... a big zero. I was at home stewing in my own juices.

I hurt my back at the gym the other day; so, I've been letting myself mend. Today, I plan to go back to the gym for a good, much needed workout.

The oil in the gulf is now being minimized. We can only hope what we're hearing is true... but then we've been lied to so many times.

I still have much to be thankful for... my daughter, her husband, my grandsons, my sisters, neices and nephews, healthy parents, my 90-year-old grandma, my aunt, cousins... My cup runneth over.

         Have a remarkable day!

Hello, there. Hope your Saturday is going well. Mine has been a slow and restful.

Went to the gym this morning. While on the treadmill, I rounded out my aching back and felt an instant twinge of excruciating pain. Gathering my belongings, I walked to my car. Sharp, unnerving pain kept my movements slow and descisive. Looking in the mirror, a grimace betrayed me. I've spent the day in bed and am now sitting in a lay-back recliner with a pillow to soften the pressure points.

Thank God for pain pills and muscle relaxers.

My sister, Pammy, was taken to the emergency room today exhibiting symptoms of a heart attack. She sees her cardiologist next Wednesday. Previously diagnosed with congested heart failure, she takes medication to remove fluid around her heart. Her heart does not get enough oxygen either (eschemia?).

About a year-and-a-half back, Pammy had lapband surgery to combat obesity, and her weight is now appropriate for her small frame. She's married to a good man and has three children --- two girls in their twenties and a seventeen-year-old son. While she is presently, seemingly, okay --- at home --- she works full-time at a stressful job and has difficulty with her maturing son. I covet your prayers.

My day was full but uneventful. My father and I cleaned while my mother did laundry and fixed veggie pizza. My two sisters who live nearby are well. My eldest sister's youngest son is fulfilling a term of military service in Iraq and has witnessed the deaths of two of his buddies by IEDs. Half of his tour will be completed soon, and he will be back home in the States for a short break before returning to serve the remainder of his tour.

--------------------------------------------

On a lighter note, I have a new laptop and am learning to use Skype with a webcam. =) Fun, fun.

I hope your week is going well. God speed.

Today, my baby sister turned forty-one. Whoa!

I had another interview today for a position with a law firm in Mobile, Alabama. It went well. They will continue to interview next week and then will set up some final interviews with the lead attorney in their Mobile office. (They have several branch offices.)

The week is winding down toward yet another weekend. Enjoy the remainder of your work week.

It's nice to see the summer moving forward so predictably. I'm sure we're all looking forward to cooler days, nights, weekends...

God help us all to diligently use our gifts and talents to bring Him glory.
