My life's ups and downs... |
Saturday, June 19, 2010 Looking forward to a Happy Father's Day with mom and dad. [Sh---have a card waiting in the shadows...] |
Thursday, June 17, 2010 Hey there. Still looking for work here. Had another interview yesterday. It went well. It was clear the lady liked me, enjoyed our conversation. She assured me that I would be in the list of final prospects to be interviewed again-----by either herself or the attorney. Yeah! Otherwise, my life is not that interesting at the moment; so, I won't bore you with the details. |
Monday, June 14, 2010 --- my birthday! It's like Christmas every time another birthday rolls around... Happy Birthday to me. I live in a tree. I smell like a monkey, and I look like one too! Time to get a shower and move forward... =) |
Saturday, June 12, 2010 Two more days until my birthday!!!??!! I'm always excited when my birthday rolls around ----- regardless of whether or not anyon celebrates with me. I've got a few plans for the day. So, I might as well get this party started... =) Have a great weekend! May you find yourself fruitful, restful, peaceable, content and kind. God speed! |
Thursday, June 10, 2010 My birthday is in four days... always a good day. I trust we're all enjoying summer time. In good ole Alabammy it is hot as heck... humidity, bugs... you get the picture. Today is Day 51 since the oil began to spill in the Gulf of Mexico. God bless the families of those killed when oil began to spew, grant us patience and cleanse our land anew. |
Sunday, June 6, 2010 (8:09am Central Time) It stormed yesterday afternoon----quite refreshing really. We were sooo hot. The sun was beating down, humidity high... It started with a pleasant breeze, then the wind picked up, the sky darkened, thunder rolled in with lightening and the rain began to pelt the earch --- becoming a drenching downpour with huge gusts of wind. It really cooled things down in a hurry. We were visiting my sister and her husband for a cookout, cake and ice cream to celebrate his birthday... [My keyboard is whacking out --- skipping letters, not leaving spaces... I need a new keyboard!] ...anyway, we were chatting and enjoying one another's company when all hell broke loose. Things cooled off in a hurry. When the rain soon let up, my parents and I came home to their house. I scooped my frightened Goober (my sweet tomcat) off the back porch and put his little butt within the safety of the garage. I have had a very nice week. I won my unemployment appeal and money should start drifting into my account very soon. YEAH! I also received a telephone screening from a potential employer and signed on with an temporary employment service in Fairhope. (Should find out if the local U.S. Sports Academy wants to take it to the next level and interview me within a few days.) |
Friday, June 4, 2010 My unemployment came through. I WILL receive Unemployment Compensation for all weeks claimed. Hip hip, hooray! |
Thursday, June 3, 2010 One of my brothers-in-law has a birthday tomorrow! To me, June is a month of fascination and renewal. Reminds me of tulips, strawberry shortcake, swimming, canoe trips, etc. Have a wonderful month. Lord willing, all crises will be resolved by month's end. Farewell, until we meet again. |
Sunday, May 30, 2010 I'm not sure what is going on, but I'm in the fight of my life... My energy is waning. I've had a lot happen within the last few years and am hoping to come back out of this on top. In 2008, I turned 50 --- my year of jubilee. Since then, I've had a lot of negatives. I guess I always expected life to be easy and fun --- mine has been vigorous, daunting and at times debilitating. I know it's all perspective. Somehow, I expected more... I am sure there is a lesson in this that's just beyond my reach. I've learned that life on this earth is not a fairytale. We don't all live happily ever after. I've done a lot of things wrong --- made bad choices. Consequently, I'm in the valley of despond. Since being out of work, I've been doing more reading. I'm thinking it might be a great idea to re-read The Pilgrim's Progress by John Bunyan to regain some vital perspective. May God help us continue moving forward. Life is too short to dwell on the negative. |
Friday, May 28, 2010 Happy Friday! and Happy Three Day weekend if you're so blessed! Memorial Day is Monday here in the USA; it's a National Holiday so most of our citizens should not have to go to work. Yay! It has been a good and at times productive week for me. My parents should be playing golf together today; so, I'll probably go to a nearby park and walk the trail. There is also a walking trail in Loxley(sp?), which isn't too far away. Again, be blessed and have a great weekend! |
