Today I walk as a diminished creature...
         lost in an unpleasant deadzone
         void of time and space,
         lacking in hoopla and grace.

I hope you will find the following both productive and beneficial.

I've been considering "fixations," patterns of thought. The bible says that we are to Take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. (2 Corinthians10:3-5)/1/ We are not to let our thoughts run rampant without control, fixate on things that irritate us, fixate on negative thoughts... thoughts that bring us down. We can control our thoughts ---- distract our minds from negative, unhelpful, unfruitful thinking.

Be careful (anxious) for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep (guard) your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6&7)

Then Finally, brethren (brothers and sisters in Christ), whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there by any praise, think (meditate) on these things. (Philippians 4:8)

God would not tell us to control our thoughts, imaginations if we were unable to do so. With God's help, we are empowered to control our thinking, speaking, behavior... We do not need to allow ourselves to dwell on every thought that pops into our head, and to react in kind --- in speech or behavior. We have the power to distract ourselves, guide our thoughts.

There is another scripture I'm reminded of, Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaketh. (Matthew 12:34; Luke 6:45; Mark 7:19-21) In other words, whatever we allow our minds to dwell upon will come out through our words speech and will motivate (be displayed by) our actions...

Read, study, meditate on Psalm 1. Allow these words to roll over and over in your mind.

----------------------
/1/ For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; ... (2 Corinthians 10:3-5)

All scripture references are taken from the King James Version (KJV) of the Holy Bible.

Today after replenishing my printer with a new ink cartridge, I mailed out three letters as well as responding to an ad on line. Still looking for work.

I then noticed a lady from a firm in Mobile had sent me another e-mail wondering if I had yet found work. (I responded to her that I'm still looking...) God, ease my subconscious mind and let this be the job you have for me.

I continue to covet your prayers.

...STILL ---- no job in sight. I'll let you know how the unemployment appeal goes. Haven't heard yet. =)

Take care and keep your chin up because Jesus loves you. Then keep your eyes open and look around because there are others who love you too! =)

There was a friend in my Freshman year of highschool who showed me a lovely quote: If you wish to be loved, love./1/

It was storming here all night long and throughout the early morning. Everytime I tried to put my kitty out, he ran right back in the house and waited for me at the door to the garage. (I tho't if I were out on the porch with him he would be okay... but he was too scared.) It's now stopped. Yes!

I plan to attend a different church this morning... I'm hoping it's the right one for me.

I haven't written much of anything since the first of this year... I've had too much going on personally to concentrate on writing... reviewing. But things, they are a 'changin. =)

         Happy Wednesday!

Just got back from the gym with my dad. Mom had tee-time at 7:15am; so, she's on the golf course.

I went by another church I found online ---- left my contact information for a call from the pastor so I can find out what they believe, their mission statement, etc. After that, I'll check it out this Sunday.

It's overcast here today in Alabama, and there is still much ado about the oil spill in the gulf of Mexico. Thick balls of tar are washing up on the shorelines.

To every mother: HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!

According to the news, the oil slick has reached Alabama. They've taken many preventative measures to protect all of our shores; so hopefully the damage won't be quite as severe as we first anticipated. (Of course, how many sea animals have died already? I'm sure oil doesn't contain oxygen.)

Happy Mothers Day and may the weather cooperate with all our plans. =)

God created the world in six days, on the seventh day he rested.

Though we may be working diligently, let's find our SOLACE in Him. He is our PEACE in the midst of each storm.

For GOD so LOVED the WORLD ---- that's all of us ----- that He gave His only begotten Son that we might have eternal life. Jesus was born, lived, died and resurrected for US. He now sits at the right hand of the Father to judge the living and the dead. (His judgments are true because only He knows the motivations of our heart.) He ever liveth to make intercession for us. He is our ADVOCATE with the Father. He is a FRIEND that sticketh closer than a brother... If HE is FOR US, who can be against us? HE will make a way when there seems to be no way. HE is the WAY, the TRUTH and the LIFE. HE says that, NO man cometh to the FATHER but by HIM.

Let GOD arise and our enemies be scattered.

Happy Cinco de Mayo! I'm hoping to have tacos today. They have a place in Mobile called Fuego's --- Tuesday is taco night and you can get them at the buffet two-for-$2.00. My sister, Missy, and I were over there last night for a book club meeting... Quite a diversity of personalities --- all women. It's fun and we all seemed to enjoy the book we just read. Next month's book is shorter. So that may be nice----not quite so much pressure. (My sister gets the books, reads them, then passes them onto me.)

If you're celebrating Cinco de Mayo --- or just celebrating another day. My best to you... -Kim

Yesterday was May Day! I see a pole in a circle of multicolored ribbons floating downward... young hands and feet are dancing. Happy May!

May the blossom of flowers awaken us with a sprinkle of rain and fresh cut grass.
