Get ready to bless those close to you with with an endearing expression of love. Two more days...

Hope everyone is enduring this cold weather with patience. By the grace and mercy of God, it won't last forever ---- and it could always be worse. Spring is coming!

I seem to be recovering nicely from the surgery. In six to eight weeks I can restart my exercise regime. After six months, I should be able to do a little more lifting without repercussions.

Today I see my gynecologist for my first post-op. office visit. Doing very well. Can't stand or walk but for a short time or I start feeling the pain of my surgery. So, I rest regularly. Actually rode around Publix grocery store on one of those scooters yesterday... It was that or just sit in the seats at the front of the store until mom and dad finished. I never was one to sit on the sidelines.

Anyway, I believe I can go back to work now --- at least part-time --- as long as I don't have to lift any large files. When I lift sometimes, even just a full coffee pot, I feel pain in my right side. Can't wait to be completely back to normal. =)

Hope everyone is having a pleasant week. May God watch over you and bless you with His presence.

It has been cold down here in St. Petersburg, Florida. The presumed high of the week is at 66 degrees on Tuesday with rain showers, making it a little harder to get out of a warm bed in the morning.

The area remains beautiful with the walkways along the bay, bikers, runners, walkers and children. The skies are blue and the air is fresh.

I feel better everyday, healing from the recent surgery. Rest often... but am no longer on pain killers --- just rest when I start to feel rundown, pain. It's tough not taking walks, bike rides, not being able to go to the gym and exercise. But it all takes time and I certainly want to heal properly.

My parents are still here keeping me company. Though they're 71 and 75, Dad enjoys many walks throughout the day while my mother plays games on the computer. (She'd rather be playing golf. =)

Have a great week. Enjoy the cold weather because Spring is about to make its grand entrance.

Hi, good to be back. I was trying to free-up space on my computer yesterday and deleted something significant. I spent all day trying to download my backup from Norton. (Still didn't reinstall what I so easily deleted in a matter of seconds.)

Since I had the original installation disk, I reinstalled this morning and much to my surprise, my e-mail including all contacts, are intact!

You live and learn... Mistakes are not so bad when you can learn an unforgettable lesson and with patience restore what was erased.

Still recovering from surgery. I've used the last of my pain pills. Now when in pain, I lie down for awhile --- on the bed so my organs aren't scrunched. Then when I wake-up, the pain has gone and I'm feeling better again. I'm learning my limitations and how to help my recovery along.

May God bless your weekend with fun, excitement and rejuvenation for the upcoming week.

... and the month of January draws to an end.

It's been a good month. I sailed through my surgery... but due to my high-anxiety and being unmedicated, I am sure I appeared quite the fool too many times while in the hospital. That's okay. A little humiliation is good for the soul.

My parents will be coming in late afternoon today to stay with me for a few weeks. I'm looking forward to their company.

God bless you this wonderful Sunday. Say good-bye to an unforgetable January, and continue to pray for the Haitian nation.

We had high winds yesterday afternoon. They died down and then picked up again all through the night. While I usually enjoy the wind, yesterday was a little eerie for me in light of the recent earthquake in Haiti. So, I remained in an attitude of prayer.

This morning when I went out to the carport, there was vinyl siding all over the ground. I picked it up and moved it out of the driveway, looked up at the eaves under our roof and called our apartment manager. That must have been what cause the crashing noise I heard at around 2am.

Take care and have a great week.

It is about 9:50 p.m. here in breezy St. Petersburg, Florida. The wind chimes are singing, the air is moving, and all my windows are open!

I just found the most amazing public television/website. WUSF Create, channel 618 on my TV. The website is www.knitandcrochettoday.com --- so cool. While I am recovering from my surgery, I want to learn to knit and crochet. It's supposedly a good way to medidate, calm the mind. They actually are teaching parents of children in pediatric hospitals how to knit and crochet. What a wonderful way to not only pass the time, but to regenerate and relax the mind.

Hope everyone is having the BEST weekend! God bless all my friends and family, without which my life would be so empty. Loves and hugs, Kim aka Maria Mize

P.S. www.coatsandclark.com supplies knitting and crocheting supplies.

Just a quick update... All is well with me. Next Thursday I'm scheduled for a hysterectomy. While I'm sure it will go smoothly, I covet your prayers.

With the approval of my doctor, I may be travelling to Alabama to recuperate comfortably with my parents -- by air or by road.

While at first I considered this routine surgery, I now understand it takes a lot out of you and a while to fully recover --- six to eight weeks. But I am scheduled off work for no more than four weeks.

Have an extraordinary weekend my friends.
