| Wednesday, October 7, 2009 Hello, friends. I'm doing well though I saw my GP yesterday for chest pains and he sent me to the hospital for STAT blood work. All is normal was the final report. Last night I felt a lump under my arm and called my gynecologist today to rule out the need for another mamogram---possibility of cancer. She told me that because it is close to the surface and red, it is non-cancerous and probably just a clogged pore or ingrown hair. She told me to treat it with Neosporin(sp?) and if it doesn't go away, I'm set to come back and see her in two weeks for a sonogram. I'm tired of spending so much money to make sure I'm still normal, fear of dieing because of a failure to check out the obvious. I've spent over $4,000 in medical bills this year, and I have insurance. They continue to raise their deductibles so that they actually get money from the insurees without having to pay anything out. Crazy. I'm having a minor problems with our receptionist at the office ---- when I call her she cuts me short and then hangs up on me. It's obvious she doesn't like me----but even more obvious that she is rude, obnoxious and unprofessional. My encounters with her increase my already high stress/anxiety. Working at a high-volume law office for an attorney without enemies creates multiple deadlines every day. On top of that, I am dealing with a tormenting receptionist. (Woe is me.) It's not so bad. I still have a lot to be thankful for --- a great big family and a few friends. Besides that, my boss likes me and most if not all of the attorneys at the office like me --- or put up with me without complaint. =) Thank you, Lord, for having mercy on me, a sinner striving to please you in word and deed. | Monday, October 5, 2009 It will never be 10-5-2009 again. Should we survive it, let us make the most of this day. At work, it was a s-l-o-w Monday. Got a lot done, but didn't feel like I accomplished much of anything. I hung out my Halloween decorations. It's really looking spooky around here. Have a delightful week... and many more. | Saturday, October 3, 2009 Today is my eldest grandson's birthday --- eight years old! Time certainly seems to move quickly. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Tyler James!! Hope everyone had a pleasant week. We're having a Breast Cancer Awareness Walk-a-Thon down here in St. Petersburg this morning. The walkers seem to be high-spirited as some sing in unison while others are busy chatting away to their co-walkers. I heard they may have found a cure for AIDS. Apparently, they still need to do some confirmation testing. Technology -- electronically and in the field of medicine -- continues to triumphantly march on. Now if the economists would hop on board, we'd all be much better off. =) I plan to go to the gym today --- a first since my surgery and vacation. I'll have to take it slow. | Wednesday, September 30, 2009 This month has been unusual for me. I had surgery on August 31, from which it took a week (five days) to recover. Then I returned to work four days following Labor Day, celebrated on Monday, September 7 here in the U.S.A. After that, I took vacation, travelling from Florida to Alabama to Ohio and back during the next two weeks, arriving at home on September 25 for a final three days of work. I worked a mere seven days all month. If retirement is anything like this September, count me in. Enjoy the rest of your week. God speed! |
| Sunday, September 27, 2009 My parents and I returned to sunny St. Pete early Friday evening. They took off early this morning for an eight-hour drive back to their Sweet Home in Alabama. Vacation was great, but tomorrow reality strikes again at 8:30 a.m. Hope you're having a fabulous September. When will the temperature drop, again? I don't know; go ask your friend. (Sorry for that little Dr. Seuss attack... just couldn't help myself.) More soon! I bet you just can't wait?!? Take care to comb your hair; and we'll pickup again a few days hence. |

| Monday, September 14, 2009 Today is the first day of my "official" ten-day vacation from work. I spent the day yesterday driving with my parents from my home in St. Petersburg to their home in Daphne, Alabama. I'm on my baby sister's computer just to give a brief update. I'm off to my post-op. appointment. Everything was benign, and it was a smooth clean surgery. More later... |

| September 7, 2009 Since my surgery, fashbacks... 'er, I mean, hot flashes have returned to visit again. The whole drama takes a little getting used to --- especially since I thought I had moved on and left them for the next unwary soul. I've had an uneventful Labor Day. I am so weird. I make friends... actually praying the Lord to bring friends into my life. Then shyness, self-preservation, hibernation creeps into my psyche and I avoid them. What am I afraid of? Sincerely and subconsciously, I feel threatened --- What if the friendship goes sour?, which shockingly makes me want to kick my own butt! Don't mind me, I'm just the girl next door. |
