Question of the day: How do you get along with someone whose intention is not to get along with you? I've tried silence, that doesn't work... I've tried ignoring the negativity, that doesn't work...

The scriptures say: "If possible, live peaceably with all men."

I'm wondering if there are certain circumstances in my life where that is absolutely an impossibility. I find myself doing things ---- sort of like a co-dependent ---- to avoid confrontation, etc., but it isn't working for me.

Hoping for a day without incident at the office... Why does this life have to be so full of friction and lacking in justice, kindness and integrity?

Be not weary in well-doing for in due season you shall reap if you faint not. [excerpt from the Bible]

The guy from DirectTV just left... apparently the resolution on my TV doesn't work as well on different components; so, you have to decrease the resolution in order to get a picture. Weird. Anyway, it's working pretty good now. It's on Component 1, which is usually what I run it on.

Had to leave work at 3:30pm to get home so the guy could come fix my DirectTV service. They don't work much in the evening or on weekends nowadays... or at least on short notice, though I had to wait a whole week before they could get someone out here. The guy who was here tonight lives in Pensacola... I am really out in the boondocks here. Ah, well, such is life. =)

Looking forward to payday this Friday. God help me to spend my money wisely. Tomorrow Direct TV comes back out between 4-and-8pm to fix my service. Something is amiss with the cables that plug to my TV----hopefully it's not the TV, but it's a few years old now and they aren't making anything to last these days.

I've been a little ho-hum of late----seems to be a state of being for me these days. I tend to isolate myself when at home. God help me turn that one around.

I'm looking forward to church this morning, and then hope to do some laundry today. Enjoy the cooler weather!

What a lazy butt I've been today... Went out to find I'd left my notary paperwork at the office; so, I couldn't order my stamps.

While out, I stopped at Pier One. They certainly have more and more stuff in that store. I found a few things I'd like to have for my apartment----but will have to wait until I get other things paid before buying anything new.

I was going to stop for coffee but really had enough this morning.

Went to Walmart and picked up a toilet brush, carmel apples, chips and dip, and a bottle of wine. At least I went through self-checkout!

Haven't done much else all day except watch television. Lazy, lazy, lazy.

...an eventful Friday. Walked back and forth to the Mobile County Courthouse to pick up a Legal Notice ---- got a little exercise. Sent the Legal Notice to the city paper for publication --- something I haven't done before. Sent a summons and complaint to a Florida for filing and service. Got caught up on some filing. Talked to several new people on the telephone. Oh, also got my Alabama Notary appointment papers today. I like being a Notary; it feels significant, helpful --- a civil service. =)

I like my job, my boss and the others I work with. Am glad to be learning new things here in Alabama, a nice change of pace ---- fulfilling and not as stressful. Sure do miss my daughter, her husband and my grandsons though.

It's been a nice evening here with Goober, watching a little TV, playing around on the computer. I'm satisfied. I'm looking forward to free time tomorrow morning --- sunshine, cool air, no place to go. =) Have a happy, blessed weekend.

Had a pretty good day, overall... worked through most of my lunch trying to finish an assignment.

It seems no matter where I turn, where I go, there's always someone who grates on my nerves. God help me overlook the negative and embrace the positive. Help me learn every lesson with patience and perseverance, knowing you are with me, working all things together for my good. There is a reason for the roadblocks, the dead-ends, the differences.

Therefore, I lean not on my own understanding, but in all my ways, I acknowledge You; and You direct my paths. You order my footsteps. I look not to the right, nor to the left... but my focus is on You----the Keeper of my soul. Amen.

Has it really been a month? Yes, it has... One month ago my world, as I knew it, ended, and a whole new season began----of solitude and peace, sadness and joy.

And it's Thursday already---another week about to close. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend, I am hoping to get back on that bike and ride over to the alligator pit and take a gander.

         Salute!

My kitty, Goober, found a new hiding place. Yesterday morning I looked all over the apartment for him----always say, Good-bye, before leaving for work. Found him inside the bathroom cabinet. Now, he uses his paws to open the cabinet and then climbs inside----his new secret hiding place. Love that kitty. =)

Slowly, but surely, I am getting the things I need to call my house, er apartment, a home. Got a small microwave yesterday and actually popped some corn last night. Have another pan----so now I can fix vegetables easily, plus the lid fits both the new pan and the small egg skillet I already had. Yeah!

Soon---sometime within the next few hours---my living room furniture will be delivered. Wow!

I am still sleeping on a camping cot, but one day soon---within the next six to nine months---I should have a regular bed! Yippee!

Floor lamps---something I need. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and charge them or just wait a month or so. Not sure what I'll do, probably ought to get a vacuum cleaner first. Decisions, decisions...

         Have a wonderful Saturday!
