I am finding my stride and living life in a world filled with chaos and change. |
Well, school has ended as of last Tuesday and it's taken my hubby and me till today to feel like I have a bit of my bearings together. Still feeling tired today but I think it will get better soon. And I wrote a few poems the other day. I need to upload them and share. Till later... The Tale of Adore:

I cannot scarcely believe it but I am coming to the end of a long school year and boy, am I looking forward to a little R&R! Yep, it might be the right time to write a few things or read some good writing prior to writing a thing down. I am very, very rusty in my writing, which is to my shame. I am hopeful that once I can really take a look at a few writing ideas, I will finally begin to purge out the old writing and add some new things. Oh, and if you are looking for a good book to read, please check out the new Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child novel, "Gideon's Sword". These authors are just amazing and their continued bursts of creativity is very inspiring. Well, better turn in but I'll be back soon. The Tale of Adore:

Time really does fly, unnoticed, yet it moving swiftly and seamlessly by. Time has moved by so completely that me and my husband will celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary on Tues! Are we going somewhere special? Yes, for us. It is the place that I wanted to go so many anniversaries past and my husband remembered my wanting to go there even when I had forgotten. I am SO excited and eager to spend this time with him...alone, which is a feat that is understood for any parent with small kids around. Our daughter is spending her first overnight play date with her cousin; our son is house sitting with his girlfriend and the grand baby, Ares. It's amazing how much I will definitely appreciate this time alone, unlike I would ten years ago. |
Right now, I am reading this awesome book for writers-to-be titled, "Elmore Leonard's Ten Rules for Writing" and I feel encouraged that at some point, some day soon, I might learn to write correctly too! Oh, and if you are interested in writing the thrillers, you MUST check out the link to The Big Thrill blog in my blog links page. I know no one has a reason to visit it but hopefully, someone will. I am currently reading week's post on Story, character, dialogue and setting cliches. This is real good! Hope you stop by and check it out. Well, it wasn't much but it was alot for me...I finally revised the Shimmy and Roscoe short story from AGES ago this morning. It felt good, even though it wasn't perfect. I think it was a step in the right direction for me. And taking the right steps is important to going the way you need to go. The Tale of Adore:

Doing a little writing...no, not the creative type but the academic. It's all for the higher purpose but it sure has cost me the joy of having the time to write my thoughts. Well, better get back to it. Soon there will be a small break and maybe I will write down a few things so my port isn't full of so much ancient writing. Till later... The Tale of Adore:

I finally wrote something down today. Yay! I've missed writing so much and I get thoughts, ideas, quite often that I just don't follow up on but today, well, yesterday I finished a small piece. My husband said that we were alike in that we would probably have more work accomplished if we just did something when we thought about it. He's an artist; I'm a "writer" to use the term loosely that get inspirations that we fail to act on when the iron is is hot. Or we're supposed to strike the iron...um, whatever! All I mean to say is I'm so glad that I just went on my gut instinct and wrote something down in my little notebook and posted it in a contest. I might just be on my way back. |
Well, school is out for the summer and I am just beginning a good read by James Patterson, "The 9th Judgment", from the Women's Murder Club series. These don't tend to be as predictable as some of his books are some times. I have also reserved the latest Preston/Child book featuring agent Pendergast. I can't wait to dive into that one. Ahhh!!! Can't wait to talk about it later... |
It's been so long since I've written anything, especially, anything of value to my portfolio and I feel like writing again. The time must be right in my mind to take up the writing challenge...I'm looking forward to it. |
