Hey, I was wondering if someone would be able to look over this short story I wrote and write a review. Please be as honest as possible. The beginning of my story needs some work and I would appreciate some advice on that! Thanks!

So,everyone, I just found an extremely new talented poet earlier. If you would like to take a look at some of his writing, trust me, you won't regret it. ryanmills234
| Hey guys, I have bad news. Today is my last day on WdC - at least until the next three months. I will try my best to log in if my parents allow me to, but I can guarantee this. I have only been on this site for, what? A month? It hasn't been that long, but I have seen my writing and creativity improve nonetheless. Everyone here so far has been incredibly supporting and kind, but these are just a few people that have really stood out to me: First off, the person I have enjoyed the most on this site, I Heart My Sox These are the other people on here who I have found inspiring in one way or another with either their writing or their kindness: Sumojo Schnujo's having school probs ☘️ Richard ☘️ Lilli ☕ Princess Megan Rose TJ: one day closer to camping The StoryMistress stolenthrones buddhangela LorenIsOneOfMyNames John Annette Christmas Dutchessbarbie 🌝 HuntersMoon Sophy on the road Andy~hating university Legerdemain Jim Charity Marie - <3 ♥HOOves♥ jondakota Jayne Next, I would just like to point out a few contests I think should be recognized. First, one contest I have really enjoyed, called "The Writer's Cramp." If you are feeling like you have been lacking in creativity or having a bit of writer's block, this is the contest to use. With a new prompt everyday, the winner of that prompt will receive 10K GPs.
Other good contests or activities include:
Thank you to all of you for being so encouraging and kind. I appreciate it. This past month has been a good one. I have a few items in my portfolio that haven't been reviewed. I would highly appreciate anyone who took a look at them - even a short review is fine by me. Have an awesome day, guys! |
Have a great summer. Lots of rest and just fun.
Will do Emma
Happy Summer, Emma! We'll be expecting to see you back in the fall. Take care of you!
Are you bored and want to read a random blog about a random teenager girl's life (seriously, I'm thirteen years old)? Well then, this blog will be perfect for you!!

As you know, the school year is coming to an end (I am going into eighth grade next year. Woo-hoo!). When the school year ends, the school takes back our school chromebooks that they provided us until the following year. Since I have been using WDC on my school chromebook, this means that I will not be able to use WDC until next school year, which is in about three months. They will be taking our chromebooks back in about a week, so I have a week to get the rest of my stories and stuff onto WDC. I hope you guys will still remember me by then! This has definitely been a great adventure and improved my writing a lot, even though I have only been here for a short amount of time. The people here are so supporting, encouraging, and kind! Thank you! I would also highly appreciate it if you read some of my stories and gave them reviews. Once again, thank you!
Emma They are right to want to know what you do online. It's a big world full of a lot of very bad sites. Writing.Com is not one of those, but the majority of members are well over 18, so your parents' concern is righteous. Do lots fun stuff over summer. You can write on paper and later type it into items here.
What helps you find the right title for your story or book?
Most of my characters are derived from people I have met or know. Some are made up of characters I invented for a specific story but used in a different way for a different story. The novel I am writing now has two characters I made up for D&D when I was in college, 40 years ago. I guess it just depends on the story I want to tell.
Hey guys...this is a One Tree Hill spoiler. So if you haven't gotten past Season 3, you might not want to read this. Have you ever watched the show One Tree Hill? It's a great show (on Hulu if you ever want to watch it), but anyways, that's besides the point. My mom and I were watching an episode of One Tree HIll. And let me tell you. It was the saddest episode ever. Season 3. Episode 16. The first thing that told me that this episode was going to be different was when at the beginning there was a screen of about a paragraph of words warning parents about the things this episode was going to contain. My mom has already watched the whole show, so she warned me that if it came to be too much for me, she would turn it off. Basically what happened was Jimmy, a boy at Tree Hill High, brought a gun to school. After some bullies decided to mess up his locker, Jimmy pulled the trigger. You could see the shock on Jimmy's own face after he pulled the trigger - like he didn't even think that he would do it. Jimmy accidentally shot a girl in the leg, Peyton. The whole school went psycho after that, because after all, it is a school shooting. Jimmy held seven kids hostage in a room after that. One of them called 9-1-1 on her phone, which got him even more upset and made him threaten to shoot them. He made them make a line of tape across the center of the room, and told the hostages that if they crossed the line he would shoot them. One of the boys went across the line, daring Jimmy to shoot him, but another person punched the guy who crossed the line so that he wouldn't have to make the choice. Jimmy was hurt. He confessed his feelings and how alone he has felt in high school. He said that the best day of his life was the one day whenever no one looked at him or talked to him the whole day. You could see his hurt, and it was utterly depressing. Towards the end, Keith Scott comes into the building and tries to reason with Jimmy. Jimmy tells him that there is no coming back from this. That this felt like the only way all of the bullying and the hurt he felt would go away. And, at the end, Jimmy committed suicide. I just want you all to know that if you see someone, even if you don't recognize them, please be nice. A simple smile, a simple compliment might go a long way. Sometimes, you can get so consumed in your own feelings that you don't notice you're ignoring the others around you.
Question... How do you report someone on this site? Is it possible? If so, please tell me. Someone made an inappropriate comment and I don't want anyone else to see it. I don't want anyone's feelings to get hurt.
For those of you who have your own blog... What do you try to include in a blog? What should you not have in a blog? I am thinking of having my own blog, but I'm not sure I have what it takes quite yet.
There are several groups that offer blogging prompts, several of them are listed here;
You can also use your blog just to post about whatever you are doing, things you find interesting, or things you'd like to do. Perhaps places you've been or would like to go to. The music you like. In short a blog can be anything you want it to be. |
I know I've been asking a lot of questions, but what are gift points and what can you use them for?
Check out: "Writing.Com 101" Above the Table Of Contents is a small search box. Type "Gift Points" in that box and click "Search 101" and see what you find! We don't ever mind folks asking questions but you can find some of your answers in "Writing.Com 101" . Something I did when I started: I clicked every link to see where it took me. It was an amazing adventure—still is!! And: WELCOME TO WDC!!!
