As a matter of fact I did watch the horrific story of the Genocide this past weekend on cable. It broke my heart to see how they were discarded with out feeling or remorse. I remember thinking why did no one come in to stop it, maybe because they owned no oil fields?

Wonderful, imaginative, filled with color and riveting rhythm. Rising from the ashes and continuing the journey in this life time. I love every verse and line. But these lines stand out for me:
'Princes: masked, poisonous spitting spiders.
No mere frogs, but brown recluse nightmares

It has been a while since I've paid you a visit, and glad I am that I did.
What a great turn around of a great story from the past...personally I like yours better. About Ray being an alcoholic really does make a lot of sense, after all he was in the corn field.
Very well written piece on how to write and still enjoy parenthood. I would most assuredly agree with you 100%. Today I have little grandchildren who come to visit for a weekend or for a week and we have our special time and then there is my writing time while they nap or play. It is a joy and I'm so very glad you've found and written a very good solution.

rhythm and the words roll off as I read them.
I like the fact that you've not used much punctuation
but if you're going to use the periods after a sentence,
your next line should begin with a capital letter.

I really enjoyed this little story and I love
how you characterized your characters in this
one. I could really see your visuals so clearly, and
when you describe the young girl at the camp and how
she looked then according to your main character, was
awesome the image was perfect. It sounds like a true
story or one that could have been ‘Anytown USA.’
I found not one error or for that matter nothing to fix. I enjoyed every word. Great read and thank you for sharing.
I'm sure that if books could talk they would have much to say about the reader, and how they reviewed
the work of the author inside. From this readers point of view I could have read a few more words of
wisdom from the point of view of the book, and more
circumstances he may have derived from the author, and the lessons he may have learned. But I did truly enjoy this piece and hope you'll soon have more pieces added to your port. Is there a pacific reason you did not capitalize your I's?
