Hello my favoirite POET! Lawrence Author IconMail Icon

Larry, what did I say? You can transport me to a golden field and off unto a fishing boat. How can you do what in one swift breeze? You have such an describtive way with words. I know nothing of forms or rules of poety, only what I like. You are what I like. I love to see and feel when I read poetry. I want to be entertained with words. Thank you again for bidding on Shellyville! Here you are suppose to take the trip, but I'm the traveler!

Hello Lawrence Author IconMail Icon

What I love best about your poetry is your ability to transport my mind. I can travel to the park and hear the kids playing and also see that what is missing, those souls that have traveled before us. You say it like you are reading a book, but I feel it as part of the whispers from Bear River...Can you feel the connection? I know I sure can! Powerful poetry with heart and vision! Thank you so much for giving me so much to think about.

Hello Lawrence Author IconMail Icon

What an amazing poem that reads like a story. It is so powerful and SAD! I can see the pain, the blood and the horror!!! It makes me so sad that stupidity has ruled so much of America's history. What an important poem to share and remind us of how far we have come and how far we still need to travel. Thank you!!

Hello Lawrence Author IconMail Icon

Hearing that whisper and knowing it is just for you, gives me goose bumps! I have stood in that barren fielding praying for my own voice to whisper those words. When they finally arrived I was born again. It really is an awakening and I love that you shared that personal note at the end. It brings even more power to the poem.

It is awesome that you are back and I am so happy you wanted to travel to Shellyville!
Thank you,

Hello Lawrence Author IconMail Icon

This is not one of the official poetry reviews...but I had to find out what this was all about. I think your contest were some of my favorite poems. You made me stretch out of my comfort zone and I will be forever grateful for that. Now you are doing the same thing with this inspiriational contest. I love the list of 10 and if that can't inspire, I am not sure what will! Thank you Larry!!

I couldn't have said it better! The Lord does his job, but it is up to us to see the goodness in the bad days. To know that life is a balancing act of joy and sorrow and promise for a better tomorrow! Thank you so much for sharing this, I love to read poetry that makes me feel good and I can understand it!!

Hello J. A. Buxton Author IconMail Icon

It is my pleasure to give you a Simply Positive review!

This is a fabulous story! I love the whole thing from beginning to end. You are so brave, but more important, it tells the story of your cats and how accepting they are. They know possy is not one of them, yet they still let him in and share him. I think this is one of the best things I have read in a long time. I am so glad SP highlighted this. I only hope the next time you reach down to pet him, another true friendship comes true. Wow!

Hello Cappucine Author IconMail Icon

It is my pleasure to offer you a Simply Positive review,

I love the pearls of wisdom you have here, not easy to pull it all together. Funny how some advice can sound so off the wall, but be real. My favorite line in this one....Learn to trust, even a little bit, belly intelligent.
I like the idea of being gut smart!! I have no suggestions to make this better! Thanks for sharing your creative talent.

It is my pleasure to offer you a Simply Positive review!

I love things that go bump in the night, but this was so much better, it made me laugh! I still can't stop laughing. It is so not nice and yet so true to life and kids. To be so scared and to be surprised like that. Really you could have gone so many ways. I love this! Thanks for sharing and I can offer no suggestions, I think this is perfect!

I am proud to give you a review in honor of the Circle of Sisters.

I love the flow of this poem, and can feel such joy in your son's return. I bet the summer days must be long if you have to wait all winter for him to come. *Wink* I can find nothing wrong with this warm embrace to your son. Thank you for sharing.

I love how you have transfomed this poem with only a few words. I love the idea of a capret full of leaves and when I look out my back door, that is exactly what I see. It is the cool wind and the color that makes Autumn such a special time. I think a flight on my broom in in order today! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Hello sssam-on the way back Author IconMail Icon

Thank you for your entry in the "Invalid ItemOpen in new Window.

I Judge on the following three items:

1. Follow the prompt. It is not easy to take a picture and draw out a story but you did it!

2. Easy to Read. I loved the drama of the panic of going back in the memory after an accident, I also really like the set up of emotion and reality of the setting. Very good writing.

3. Errors/grammar. I am not an editor, so for me to find mistakes, they must really stand out. I was so into the story, that nothing as an error stood out. Great job and you shouldn't be nervous with your fist story, you should be very proud. Thank you so much and Nicki will judge next and then results will be given after the 26th of October.

Thank you!

Hello Joseph Michael Webb Author IconMail Icon

What an interesting way to look at the influence of media. I had several siblings, but none of them liked reading, but music was a huge part of growing up and so was TV. My mom also loved to play the radio before school and we would end up dancing all during breakfast. My brother talks about her love of rock N roll, but I don't remember that part. Hey you hit a stop sign? How could you not tell your parents? That is so funny. I liked this but again you need to do some editing at the end, you transfer back and forth between present and past tense. It gets a little confusing but I know what you are trying to say. Thanks for sharing!

It is my pleasure to give you a Simply Positive review,

Okay it is not easy to combine, teddy bear, cupcake and wagon all in one story. I love it! I would only add what year is she celebrating? Only one candle??? LOL You know what I like best about this, is that is starts our sad but ends happy with thoughts of calling her brother. I really like the sentiment of that. Great job!

Hello AmyStarr Author IconMail Icon

The emotional toll of being cheated on can really do some serious damage to the heart and soul. I get that expression well in this piece. However, it was the large caps that distracted the tenderness and emotional pull that could be so much stronger if this wasn't like you were screaming. If you change the font on this, I think you would have a 5 star poem for sure!

Portray me as I am? I love that each stanza can stand alone as a complete thought and part of you. I get the complexity of the human spirit. That at any given moment we can be confused and not viewed in our best light. Yet, if you only take the parts you like, you never get to see the whole picture. The enitre person with the deep feelings. You have a great way with words. Powerful writing.

Hello Lawrence Author IconMail Icon

New beginnings are what it is all about. When I first came to writing.com I was trying to create a new beginning for myself, a place to find out if I really was a writer. I found out that yes, I can create poems that have meaning, but more important I found a place that accepted me. Flawed and not perfect and that helped me more then anything else!! It is because of meeting you and your creative power with poetry that pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me create more meaning in my words. I am really happy to have you back here. I can't imagine all the new writers you are going to influence. Thanks Larry and I hope your health improves every single day!!

Love ya,
Michelle

Hello Virginia Lee Author IconMail Icon

Well you write a pretty depressing look at the dangers of mental illness, the fight of good vs. evil and what happens when you give into the dark side. The reality is here in the words and the feeling is hard to miss. I like poetry that makes me think and wonder and can twist my imagination. Great job, I have nothing to offer to make this better. Thanks for sharing!!

I agree when we start to see the light, new changes can begin. I admire the strength and courage in these powerful words. I hope the light can carry you were you want to go in life. It takes a strong writer to admidt the times when they are lost in the darkness. I have been there. Thanks for sharing!

Hello Joseph Michael Webb Author IconMail Icon

It is more then the flow of your words but where they take me. I like to vision something when I read. It's not easy with this kind of spiritual poetry, you have to decide where you want to do, but I like the floating feeling and that the nature and soul are mixed up in the battle of figuring it out. Again another great poem! Thanks for sharing!!

Oh sweet Just call me Omni Author IconMail Icon

Wow!!!!! If I could give you a million stars and a trip back in time, I would! I love this. Your writing from the heart, the reality, the honest and brutal truth and most of all, I love that I understand completely how you feel about grief and your dad dying. I swear in 2002 when my dad died, I felt my world change forever. No doctor will ever replace that spot in my heart that belonged to my dad. I know we do heal with time, but that place will stay empty, I suppose that is part of the healing, accepting that you will always have some kind of feeling like this. Your words will live on long now. Your pain will get less, but the lesson will never stop. It was a great idea to share this hear, maybe it can help someone that is standing in that mirror. You know I have been so depressed before, you just can't see past it. I can't thank you enough for sharing this with me.

Hugs,
