Our connection to Mother Earth |
| Safe within the canvas of my tent My broken life will continue to move on Wrapped tightly within my blankets The ground’s icicle fingers cannot touch me Trees stand guard in this transient place Songs of grace whisper through the branches above A distant stream flows through the woods Singing a lullaby beneath the full moon My friend, the wind, speaks softly to me Talking of all that it has seen Mountain peaks and crowded streets Shining oceans and vast fields As it leaves it gently lifts my hair Place a touch of warmth on my skin There are no walls nor chains to confine me No structures built to hold my pain I live as one with Mother Nature Her boundless heart welcomes me The earth itself my kin Sitting beside the campfire at night Surrounded by billions of lantern like stars They speak to me of what was, is and will become |
