In the universe. Yes - it's just too crazily big for that not to be the case.

In our galaxy. There must be life out there, even if it's the simplest kind imaginable. Sentient life - most likely. Technologically advanced life - possibly, but there won't be many if there are. For example, Earth has been around 4.5 bn years and we've only been getting really advanced in the last few thousand. We might wipe ourselves out in the next few thousand as well.

ETs visiting Earth. No. Not a chance. The distances between stars are just too huge, even if there is another technologically advanced society in our neck of the woods.
