I started my career as a substitute teacher. Since I was dependable and exhibited the ability to not be eaten alive by the students, I was called in often. Very few times did I cover for Music Classes. I subbed for, among other things, Home Economics, where we made pillows. Math classes, not my strong suit, but I made the students teach me. English Lit, one notable time we read Julius Ceaser. Shop, sadly, we couldn't do anything because of insurance regulations, the same for the PE classes I subbed in. It was during a music sub situation that I received a job offer. That ended my subbing career. As a musician, I often took over or temporarily replaced other players. That actually started in High School, when I was called upon to replace a player who suffered an appendicitis attack at an All-County Festival. And Congratulations S🤦♂️, you have big shoes to fill replacing Lilli ☕. But I know you'll do wonderfully!! |
