Yes I did, as assistant head librarian in a small library, I often had to step into the head librarian's shoes. Also, while in the same position, part of my job was to go on radio and do new book reports. Once, when the DJ was supposed to be back to take over when I was done, he was delayed. I began to adlib and make a few jokes. Later, the station manager called to say he was impressed with it and asked me if I wanted to join his crew. I was busy enough I felt, so I politely declined.
