I do find here medical personnel do have some respect, so it is interesting that there they may not.

But, yes, garbage collectors (garbos as we affectionately call them) are looked down on. They do vital work. I'd sooner be friends with a garbo than an "online influencer" - what a waste of a job, of money and of oxygen that is.
