It seems that your family time takes a bite out of you.

As things seem to be a little calmer now, you could try to add 200 words a day (or less if that works better for you). Or you could try to dedicate one day a week and add 1,000 words. As long as you keep the story in mind, ideas, words, and more will come eventually.

I think you have a very good idea for a novel. I think it's something that I would want to read if the cover looks good. Since it involves a woman and magic, this has great potential for a cover that pops out on the shelf.
