When there is no room left in hell gruesome dead will walk gruesome earth open range gruesome when there is no room left in hell. This 11 line Skinny poem was composed for Prompt #2 in the January, 2019, round of the "Invalid Item" contest. African-American poet/songwriter/publisher Truth Thomas invented the Skinny as a vehicle for communicating bits of the human condition through crisp, vivid imagery. The Skinny is constructed in eleven lines. The first and last lines use the same words, but not necessarily in the same order. All the other lines consist of one word only. Lines 2, 6, and 10 must be the same word, as demonstrated in the following link: https://theskinnypoetryjournal.wordpress.com/2015/09/25/poetry-form-matters-trut... . |

Autumn leaves bid summer goodbye, transforming purple mountain majesty into flaming display-- red and gold. Snowflakes dance across the night sky. Soon, Mother Earth greets the dawn beneath comforting fluffy duvet sparkling white. Sidlak poems have a strict structure of five lines with syllable counts of 3, 5, 7, and 9 in the first four lines. The fifth line presents a COLOR that portrays the whole poem or the feelings of the writer without any requirement on syllable count, as demonstrated in the following links: https://charmedchaos.com/2018/10/14/crimson-gold/ https://charmedchaos.com/2018/09/30/the-golden-season/ https://charmedchaos.com/2018/07/19/dancing-with-daisies/ https://writingtofreedom.com/2018/10/09/moody-blues/ https://vashtiqvega.wordpress.com/2018/10/05/poetry-friday-fantasy-craving/ |
